Depending on where you are, there may be local community forums (Front Porch Forum here in Vermont) where you can post things like this. Is worth a long shot posting here. Admirable of you to try to find who is missing it.
I would contact the shipper and tell them they misdelivered a package. I know I've seen at least one large shipping service have a link on their website to report packages which don't belong to you. If you're living on a rental property, was probably the person who lived there before you and they didn't update their mailing address.
