23 Sep 2025 - I ordered a new S25 Ultra to upgrade wife's phone.
1st ISSUE: Not available for pickup within 50 miles so have to ship.
$9.99 two day shipping OK. No problems receiving tracking updates from Verizon and UPS.
24 Sep - UPS notification that delivery scheduled for 25 Sep, 1500-1700. Only UPS option is to select 2-hour delivery window. Only choice is current 1500-1700. (One choice is no choice) 2nd ISSUE: Verizon Requires Signature! NO option to deliver to UPS Access Point! (Wife is laid up in bed and cannot answer door quickly)
25 Sep - UPS notification that delivery now scheduled for 25 Sep, 1500-1700. I have to leave work early to be there for delivery. I have a Ring doorbell camera and eight dogs. I make it home before delivery. Holding my phone and chatting w/ the wife, I hear a truck drive away. It was UPS!!! Message sticker on door, "Will try delivery tomorrow'. Ring notification showed up as I was going out front.
3rd ISSUE: UPS is difficult to reach a person, but I did. They contacted local UPS and got them to try a second attempt today. Otherwise I have to repeat all of this again tomorrow.
I know security is an issue, but both companies need to make changes to their tracking and communications technologies. I should be able to get notified when the delivery is imminent, BEFORE the delivery. I did get a, 'We missed you...' notification minutes after the attempt. This can be done so much better. Verizon shipping restrictions need to be known BEFORE purchase. Customers should be able to decide choices during purchase. No knowledge or choices just causes poor customer service unnecessarily.
Waiting in the Tucson heat for a new phone.
