Cancelling port

GodStrengthensMe

I recently ordered a Verizon phone and when I ordered it, I selected to have my straight talk number transferred. Upon getting the phone, it says that the sim on my straight talk phone cannot be transferred to the esim on the iPhone 15 plus. I’ve contacted both Verizon and straight talk multiple times and it turns out that the number has yet to be transferred. I’d like to know how to cancel the port and just get a new number so I can activate my service.

According to my notes the number you listed is for Inside Sales, who can handle converting existing Verizon accounts from postpaid to prepaid service or vice versa, but I'm not sure if they are the best department for porting in from another carrier?  I have a number ending in 7095 for the Port Team.  Someone let me know via PM recently that the 7095 number is better for porting issues.

You cannot take a SIM or eSIM from a different carrier's phone and put it onto a Verizon phone because SIM cards or eSIMs are specific to each carrier.  So the Straight Talk SIM will only work on Straight Talk's network (even though I think they are piggybacking off Verizon, they are considered a separate entity).

When you port a number, you always get a new SIM or in your case, an eSIM since the iPhone 15 series is all eSIM.  Your number won't change unless it cannot be ported for some random reason...but that's quite rare and is mostly a landline problem where Verizon doesn't have an interconnection agreement with some small provider.

What you do need to get your number ported is:

-Make sure you have paid off all balances with your old carrier as owing money to them may cause them to hold your number

-Get a transfer PIN from the old carrier (these expire in a few days, so don't do it until you are ready to port)

-Your account number at the old carrier

-Valid photo ID to verify your identity

Hope that helps.

Now when I go to try to activate my phone on the Verizon activation site, it says that my service has been disconnected and I need to register again.
