I can no longer sign in to My Verizon on my desktop computer without having my iPhone in my hand. I enter my phone number as my user name, enter my password and this prompt pops up.
"VERIFY YOUR INFORMATION" Then it sends a message to my phone where I must authorize logging into the account before I can use it on the desktop computer. This has just started recently and is extremely annoying. How do I stop it?

BobT3, we want to make sure that you're able to manage your account online without any hassle. Based on the information you shared, it sounds like two-factor authentication may be enabled on your account. This setting protects your account through a secondary factor to log in. You can check if it's enabled here: https://myvpostpay.verizon.com/ui/acct/secure/profile/security/enhancedauth Please let us know if this helps.

Two-factor identification is set as disabled on both my lines. I cannot log in on my computer without verifying from a push notification or a text first. Please help me turn off this "feature".

If your PC's internet browser has one or more of the following:
-always browsing in incognito/private mode
-enhanced security settings turned on
-not accepting cookies
-configured to clear the cache every time the browser is closed
Then you'll have to sign in using two factor authentication every time even if 2FA is shut off in your account from my experience.

Thanks, but this is something that has change recently and I am looking for Verizon to provide a solution on their end.

Best of luck with that...it's been my and many others' experience here that Verizon switching a good part of their customer service operations to overseas has not been a good move for them. If you get the popup message survey thing when you login to these forums asking for feedback, complete the survey and leave some honest feedback in the comments box. Maybe if enough of us customers voice our opinions they'll do something about improving the quality of CS.

Hello, being on top of your My Verizon account is vital, especially if you are having log in issues. Verizon is here to help.
Are you able to sign in through the app, without any issues? How did you disable the two-factor authentication?

I set it to Disable through the app on my phone. I can access the My Verizon account from my phone but not online from the computer without the phone to verify. I am frequently at my computer without the phone. My Apple Watch lets me text and make calls if I need too.

Hey Verizon,
I cannot sign in to my online My Verizon account from my computer when I do not have my phone in hand. I get the message VERIFY YOUR INFORMATION and then it sends either a push notification or a text to my phone. There is no option for an email or a security question to verify with. I am just locked out if I do not have the phone with me. Two-factor authentication is NOT on. This has just started happening recently and it is not acceptable. Please have someone take a look at this issue for me.

Hello, BobT3. Thank you for this info. Just want to ensure we are on the same page. Where is your phone? Is there a reason you don't have it near you when you need to log in?

My phone is not always in the same room. Do you always have your phone in your pocket?

BobT3, I am one of those people who does have my phone close a lot, but I understand not always doing that. With Two Factor Authentication, we are going to have your device and My VZ app as the main verifcation option under Two Factor Authentication. The reason for this is, it is the most secure way to do that check with a push notification to your device. Our Account Security FAQ has more about this: https://www.verizon.com/support/keeping-your-account-safe-faqs/
Under the 'Identify Theft and how to protect...' question, there's info about Two-Factor Authentication and links to set-up and manage your settings for it in My Verizon. I highly recommend leaving Two-Factor Authentication enabled for the extra security, but you can modify things in My Verizon to your liking.
Glad I could share this information for you.

That is part of the problem. Two-factor authentication is not enabled. There are other ways to secure a log-in such as security questions but it appears Verizon has chosen not to allow them. Without the phone in hand you are locked out.

Not able to log in online or on my phone. Keeps saying "Reset password, reset security answer or too many attempts". I haven't signed into my account since 2022 when I purchase a new phone. I was having problems logging in back then but not this bad. So as of now 6/11/24 I'm still locked out. I can tell something has changed.

Managing your account is always important. Could you clarify what issues are you having with your login? Is this only happening with your computer?

While I can agree with you it is annoying, I have gotten used to this notification I've dealt with for at least a year now. It isn't the only site I'm required to use 2 factor authentication of some sort.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I had the same problem until I turned off my VPN. This is the first time I've had to do that to access Verizon - apparently my VPN service made some changes. Once it was off I logged in as usual.
