Closing Deceased Parent's Business Account

I am so disappointed in the lack of help I have received from Verizon in concern to closing my deceased father's business account. My mother is in an assisted living facility with Alzheimer's and I am her POA. I handle all of her and my father's affairs now and have visited 2 Verizon locations and have had multiple phone calls without any solution as to how I am to upload my father's death certificate and my POA for my mother. This is absolutely bonkers! I am at my wits end trying to get my deceased father's and incapacitated mother's cell phone service turned off. Why has this been so difficult?  I have had to pay for an UNUSED service since December because no one has been able to RESOLVE this issue.  Please, someone - help me!

What have you tried?  Did you visit a corporate store in person and ask for assistance that way or did you only try an on-line route?  Verizon likely has a policy in place to verify your identity before they can process closing the account.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Wow.  Very sorry to hear of your loss and what you've been going through.  I found this at the website:

https://www.verizon.com/support/deceased-account-handling/

If you have the account PIN for the lines in question, that really seems to help as I've seen this question asked a few times and the first-level agents who answer the phone when you call tend to get confused if you don't have that information.

@vzw_customer_support  - can you escalate this to Executive Relations?  This is really something for them to handle.

If you can't get a resolution directly, I think you'll have to try filing a complaint with the FCC regarding the ongoing billing/inability to close the accounts, but sure hope it doesn't have to go that far.  Sending you kind thoughts.
