Did I Trade in my Phone? How to Check?

I used to use an iPhone6 and I would like to see if there are some files on it that I otherwise would have no access to. The problem is I can't find it. I can't remember if this phone was traded in or not. Is there any way that I can check if my phone was traded in or otherwise sold to either Verizon or Apple? If it was traded in, it probably would have been over 6 years ago.

You're welcome. The "Find My" app data has probably been transferred to a number of phones over the years and all your older phones just never got removed. With Find My not finding any location, it's likely the phone is no longer working. You can remove it by doing the following.
1) Open the Find My app
2)Tap Devices at the bottom of the screen
3) Tap the name of the device you want to remove
4)Tap Remove This Device
5)Tap Remove

I doubt it. Verizon only keeps 18 months' worth of orders in your account, so any trade-ins done 6+ years ago are gone from your account history. You could try asking Apple directly, but even if they have a record of a sale from then, it's very unlikely any data can be recovered from the phone. Either it was recycled for parts and thus destroyed, or if sold to someone else, would have been factory reset before the sale.

Thank you. One more question if you don't mind. This phone still shows up in the "FindMy" app (though no location can be found). Does that give any clue about the fate of my old phone?
