Link Existing Community Account to My Verizon Account

I have a Community account from a long time ago (the one I am using).

I'd like to be able to login with My Verizon and have my community account associated the My Verizon account; however, when I try to login with My Verizon, it wants me to immediately create a username and I can't use the existing username.

Is there anyway possible to convert or link my existing Community Only login to a My Verizon login so my account is linked to the community account?

Don't think so.  I asked a similar question in reverse and was told that if your forum login is tied to your My Verizon account, then you can't use the "community member login" at all (I've tried, and get an error message).  I've also asked if my forum login could be separated from the rest of my Verizon account, and didn't get an answer, so that likely means no.

While it's inconvenient to have 2 different logins, at least you can still use your forum login credentials indefinitely so long as you don't close your forum account.  If your login is tied to My Verizon, you would lose login rights to the forums if you ever port out/disconnect your Verizon services.

I do have an idea for you though: If you close your forum account, that will delete your username and immediately log you out (your posts will then be showing as posted by "Anonymous").  Then you can login to My Verizon and go to the forums, and pick that username again?  (Or if that doesn't work, you can change the capitalization somewhere as I saw someone else do that.)  It would reset your forum status back to Newbie and all your badges and other content will be gone, but something to try.

Note that if your forum account is tied to My Verizon and you leave Verizon for another provider without closing out your forum account before going, then your username is stuck here forever and you can't make any changes.
