I’ve been trying for weeks to suspend my service for deployment and it won’t verify me through ID me and I refuse to pay 12 dollars a day and that’s what it seems like you all are trying to force.

NYMorena, thanks for serving our nation there and I hope you have a safe deployment! I'm sorry that ID.me process hasn't been working. Thankfully, we've got alternative methods you can confirm your deployment for the Military Suspend process. The primary information can be found here: https://www.verizon.com/support/suspend-service-faqs/#email
I'll also list it below, but you can send your documents to our Correspondence Team via email. They can be reached at, Email: militaryorders@verizonwireless.com
Or via U.S Mail with this address,
Verizon
Attn: Correspondence Team
P.O. Box 291089
Columbia, SC 29229
However, you opt to reach out, make sure to include the following information.
Include a copy of your relocation orders, including:
-
- Subject: Military Order
- Customer or Account Name
- Account Number and Mobile Number
The process can take up to twenty-four hours to complete. And you may need to provide additonal information from your orders. I'm glad I can share this alternative for you, so they can help get your Military Suspend in place.

The orders contain SS# and other information. These orders are not verified in a secure manner to protect information of the service men/women. Is there other options, when ID.me is not working?

We're sorry to read that you're having issues with getting set up for a military suspension. What error are you encountering when using the ID.me system? ~Peter

Maybe try a different authenticator app? Or if Verizon only needs to see the written evidence indicating your deployment and it's just the name, Verizon account number, and phone number associated, could you erase the sensitive information such as Social Security number or other information which Verizon doesn't need when you upload your supporting documentation? There are numerous apps which let you edit photos.
I do have a sort of related question about military or other line suspensions. You would still get a bill for your service, but it's less than what you'd usually pay per month? Also, there are things like perks and other monthly subscriptions, which I'd think those still get billed. I'm asking because I read a thread a little while ago where someone didn't realize they were still getting a bill for a suspended line and hadn't set up any payment arrangement, so I think they eventually got their service cut off.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
