My Monumental Sports Channel is no longer available. I know it's still offered because my friends still have it. I don't understand why it is all of the sudden unavailable. My monthly cable bill is very high and I expect to be able to watch a Capitals game.
Hi, I don't live in an area where Verizon offers cable TV service via set-top boxes, but I've seen stuff elsewhere saying Verizon is completely discontinuing cable TV service (I believe this may be happening in Q3 of this year) and going to streaming-only service. Channels get removed from cable lineups for a number of reasons - a big one is when the provider can't reach an agreement with whomever is running the channel in question and that's usually a localized problem (but a carrier may also just drop a channel because they don't think it's popular enough) - but with Verizon doing away with cable TV, may be part of the shutdown process.
