Phone Number Availability

Hello, so a few months ago I made a post about a struggle i'm dealing with which is along the lines of: a phone number that was under verizon has been suspended, and that was the number I used for two step verification when I first created a google account of mine. I forgot my password, and I forgot to change the password to something I can remember before sending my MacBook off to be fixed and factory reset. My computer is basically a brand new device, so im signed out. Codes won't go to the phone number since it is suspended. Thing is though, the phone number has been suspended for a while now.  Is it just gonna stay suspended forever? Or will it be eventually released and we can retrieve it again? It's been suspended since December if i recall correctly.

Resolution Update: By partnering with support, we were able to provide clarity to your inquiries about a previously owned phone number. We understand how important a phone number can be for access and security. When a number has been suspended for an extended time, it may no longer be recoverable. A mobile number can typically only be reactivated through a winback process if the reactivation occurs within 50 days of the original disconnection, suspension, or port-out date. -Red

If you can't turn the line back on yourself via your My Verizon account, then a Verizon agent will have to get that number switched back on for you.  Or do you mean you switched phone numbers, and the first number isn't yours any more?  If that's the case, you're going to have to contact Google about being locked out of your Google Account and see if they can get you some other means of 2FA.

Hi there AyeYoPanda, we're sorry to hear about your suspended number you'd like to retrive. Due to the amount of months the line has been suspended, its unlikely to be recovered. We'll be reaching out via private note to gather additional information to be able to assist.
