Sorry to hear about that. What you need to do is remotely factory reset the phone if at all possible, and have Verizon blacklist the IMEI so nobody else can use the phone. You can find the IMEI on My Verizon. To factory reset the phone remotely:
1) Access Find My: Go to iCloud.com/find (or open the Find My app on another Apple device) and sign in with your Apple ID.
2) Select Your Device: Choose the device you want to erase from the "All Devices" list.
3) Erase the Device: Click on "Erase iPhone" or "Erase This Device".
4) Confirmation: Follow the on-screen instructions. If the device is online, the erase process will begin immediately. If it's offline, the erase will start the next time it connects to the internet.
5) Activation Lock: When you erase a device remotely, Activation Lock remains active to protect your data. You will need your Apple ID and password to reactivate the device.
