SIM Failure

My iPhone XR is having a SIM failure. I've tried popping out the tray multiple times, and I have restarted the phone. I don't know if it's the SIM card itself or if the port on the phone is damaged.

I'm unable to access the 2FA codes to login to my account and talk to to support because of the SIM Failure.

Is it possible to get an eSIM activated on my phone so I don't have to replace the card? I have access to my email, but I can't access my texts because of the failing SIM card. I'm hoping a support representative can setup an eSIM for me so I don't need to replace the physical SIM.
