Spent hours today on the phone and never actually got the issue resolved. Eventually they told me they would call me back in a week. How is that helpful? And no, I don't believe they will actually call me back.
Verizon just launched this "Second Number" thing. For those of us who carry two phones, sounds great. $10/month if you sign up before 6/4/24. Seems simple, right?
The fine print here is that Verizon Customer Service doesn't know enough about it to help you. After spending almost 90 min on the phone, wasnt able to get anything done. This was after speaking with multiple people. The other fine print is that with Verizon's convoluted and ever changing pricing, this $10/month service is likely to cost you MORE than paying full price for another line. Why? Because if you move a line to Second Number, the pricing for each of your other lines goes up.
I'm not sure why I thought I could get a straight answer from Verizon. After 9 years, I really should know better. Anytime Verizon comes out with something new, it always ends up less features and more expensive for the customer.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but referring me to a weblink just isn't helpful. It also fails to acknowledge my concerns regarding a $10 service ending up being more expensive than the $50 it costs to carry a full additional line.

From what I read about the second number thing, you have to have just one phone which is capable of having 2 separate SIM or eSIM cards in it at the same time. Both numbers will be on the one device, so it's not for 2 different phones. The reason why the second number is being offered for $10/month currently is because it will be a talk and text only plan for that second number.
I've heard of people carrying two lines on one phone both with better service plans than just talk/text, but when that happens, the second line will still have issues like all voicemails just go to one "inbox" even with 2 SIMs on the phone.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
