My smart watch was assigned a phone number that someone else had previously owned, and is constantly receiving inbound calls and text messages. I am able to answer the calls on my watch (they are calling my watch directly, not my cell phone) and inform them that the number no longer belongs to the party in question and ask to be removed. This happens weekly, if not daily, and has been ongoing for over a year. I also receive text messages that I am unable to reply to (as the watch is designed to send a text under my main cell number) so I can not stop those either.
I called support and explained the situation, and the representative had stated that this was the first time that he had seen anything like this, and mentioned the watch is supposed to be 'data only' and not receive inbound calls or texts. I asked the representative if they could block all inbound calls and texts so I would stop being disturbed on this line, and was told they were unable. The only option was to change the number.
He had guided me through the Verizon app on my cellphone to change the number for the watch, however the option was not there. (I could change the phone number for either of the cell phones on my account, just not the smart watch). He told me if I was able to make the change through the app or the website, then I would not be charged. I attempted on the computer and ran into the same issue, there is no option to change the phone number assigned to my smart watch.
Their solution was to charge me $15 to change the number for me. This is wrong and needs to be addressed. Verizon, I hope you look into this and issue me a credit for this.

Hi carl_masnec! First wanted to make sure your new phone number is working and not getting the previous users calls and text. That would be annoying. We would be glad to look further into this number change charge. Please reply to the following private message, so we can collect additional details in a private chat to protect your online security.
