The UPS store took my unopened box with a new iPhone 16 pro Max in it that I had already set up a return for and opened the box. He then removed the iPhone from its packaging and put the packaging back in the original shipping box and said you have to take it with you because we don’t recycle. He then placed the phone, no packaging, and the charging cable on the scale, ignored the label that I got from Verizon, and printed out a generic 8.5 x 11 piece of paper with a reference number and a tracking number. This all seemed odd to me so I called UPS to ask if this was standard practice. They said that it is absolutely not!!! They are supposed to call me back tomorrow to follow up. I can’t wait to see how this turns out!!!

I'd report this UPS person to at least the store management and contact law enforcement with a description of this individual, because something tells me Verizon is never going to receive this return.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
