Been with Verizon for 11 years now. This past year with them has been nothing but a pain. It all started when my son was planning to be deployed to Africa. We went to the Verizon store the tell sales rep sold us on the travel pass. Well what they didn’t tell us was the countries that the travel pass work with are limited and my son was deployed to a country not coverage under the travel pass. So we decided to have it put on a military deactivation. We would still get charged every month even when his phone was deactivated. It took me from February to July, calling every month asking to have the travel pass removed from our account and a credit for the charges since it was deactivated. I would get told it was removed and BAM next month there it was again and there was the charge. Even went to the corporate store 30 minutes from my house to fix the issue just for them to have me sit in the corporate store and call customer service, waste of my time cause neither the customer service rep in store or on the phone helped. In fact they made it 10 times worse. They actually reactivated his phone and never took the pass off. So now I was paying for his service. When I mentioned to them the error they said they could deactivate again cause you only get one. I explained I never asked for them to activate it since he was still deployed. They ended up having to escalate the issue to a supervisor to correct the issue but it took a month. And I had to fight to have the charges removed. Fast forward to this past week. I wanted to surprise my two kids with upgrades. They have the iPhone 12 minis. I bought them together a few Christmas’s ago. They were fully paid off and ready to upgrade. I successfully upgraded one but when I went to upgrade them other I wasn’t given the same deal but was told I needed to charge my data plan to get the deal. I asked the rep how can they give you a promotion for one phone and not the other. And the ultimate data plan is not saving me money. They tried to explain how it was but I told asked them how is $50ish dollars the same as $37(what I pay now). Long story I am returning the upgrade and will be getting a credit for any charges I incur for this headache and might consider going to another carrier.
