I wanted to add a line with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, to make things easier I did the whole adding a line thing myself on the app, mobile transfer number and all. Selected the nearest store near me to pick it up (since they had some in stock) and waited. Apperantly my phone was on back order, that’s fine, it happens. But I decided to call Verizon to upgrade my phone as well, I couldn’t do it on the app because the first transaction wasn’t complete so it gave me a number to call. Perfect. The lady helped me out quick and easy. Then I decided to ask her about my first transaction because she asked me if I wanted to add a line. I asked for a follow up and she said my phone was ready to pick up in store. Strange, I didn’t get a text or email about my phone being ready. But she assured me it was ready to be picked up. I go to the store and they start acting all suspicious. No, your phone isn’t here they tell me, it’s on back order. I tell them what the Verizon lady told me and they said it’s a glitch. At this point I know what’s going on. He goes to the back of the store talks to someone and comes out saying they don’t have it. And he says something about my order not coming up anymore. I’m getting angry at this point. But nothing can be done I’m guessing. But only to wait a couple of weeks. A day later I get a email saying my order has been cancelled because I didn’t pick up my phone…. I’m livid…

The store reps make almost no commission at all on in-store pickups
