customer service

How do I get a customer representative who is not at a call center in India? As polite and helpful as they would like to be, it just is not effective. It is inefficient and takes at least an hour to solve the simplest problems. I have to constantly repeat answers to the same questions and they cannot make any changes without speaking to someone else first. I have spent hours on the phone in the last couple of months to add a device to plug a home phone for our elderly mother who would never be able to take care of this on her own because of the call center issues. Before now, we have always received good and helpful customer service that was refreshing after we left AT&T. We left AT&T for the same reasons and my account was a complete mess with their inconsistent representatives. I know we all want to save money, but this is just bad business Verizon and I am ready to take our business elsewhere to avoid the frustration!!!

If you find the answer to this, a ton of us would like to know too.  All the major carriers have outsourced their CS to overseas call centers, because I can attest to it personally from my experiences with calling Pink Logo Place's CS.  And you have had your own experiences with Blue Logo Place.

I appreciate that. I do not mind overseas call centers if they can do their jobs effectively. I called our local Verizon store and they said they have the same issue. He gave me a number to call the loyalty department. Still overseas, but much more helpful.

There's still a loyalty department within Verizon?  Or maybe they've reinstated it recently, because I'd thought this was something which was removed.

Regarding your original issue with getting a device installation where you can connect a landline phone to a wireless network: I'm guessing you're referring to an LVP2 device, if you're looking for something which uses Verizon's towers and will let a landline phone hook up.  I no longer have a landline, but it seems like you could sign your mother up for a VoIP (voice over internet protocol) landline somewhere.  Verizon may or may not offer that type of home phone service in your mother's neighborhood.  But VoIP landline service can be had elsewhere, and it's pretty cheap.  My old VoIP landline which I finally disconnected last year only cost $20/month.
