Issue receiving txt messages sent via email to phonenumber@vtext.com

Until today, I had not been able to receive any emails sent to me at my phonenumber@vtext.com. It just didn't go thru. I searched the internet and many people have had this problem and Verizon hadn't been able to resolve it (as with me). It's actually very simple.

Click on ‘Block Calls & Messages’ under PLAN

Click on ‘Internet Spam Blocking’ tab

Uncheck boxes – ‘block all text messages sent from the web’ and ‘block all text messages sent from email’

This was the message I was getting when I attempted to send myself a text from the Verizon website: Delivery to this destination failed due to invalid address.

Hope this helps someone else. I found so many ppl with this problem and not one resolution.

Actually I am not certain it is completely resolved after all. Some

messages come thru and some do not. It is hit and miss.

I'm sorry to hear that the issue was not completely resolved. Are there certain e-mail addresses or providers that you are not receiving the messages from? Are they getting an error message when they try to send to you? Let us know, so we can further assist.

Does @vzwpix.com work? I use that one from my email regardless if I have a photo to attach or not. Mary

Thanks for your post, Jules. I thought I had found the problem I was having, too. Unfortunately, I cannot receive texts to my <phone-number>@vtext.com. I get them just fine to <phone-number>@vzwpix.com, and my husband's line gets them fine to his <number>@vtext.com. But I can't get any texts to my @vtext.com. I had a nickname, and that would work: nickname@vtext.com - I received those texts. So I tried removing my nickname altogether, but still no texts received. I'm bummed.

Well then just use vzwpix.com, what's the difference. Mary

The difference is that some services, such as PhoneZoo, try to verify your phone using the phone number@vtext.com, and their program is only set up to verify you at <number>@vtext.com, not vzwpix.com.

Oh ok. I make all my own tingtones on the computer then send from my email to my phone and have to use vzwpix.com to receive the mp3 clip or I put the memory card in the computer and send them to the sounds folder. . Mary
