Need static IP address for phone to work from home

Workfromhometoo

Due to COVID-19 restrictions I must work online at home. I use my phone hotspot to access my company's database. My dynamic IP address causes problems with the connection. ( I can't afford $500 for assigned business static IP.) Can Verizon help during these challenging times?

As I understand it, the static IP address is only available to business customers.

Can't you use a VPN?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Being able to work from home successfully is crucial, Workfromhometoo! We want to help however we can. Have you spoken with the network admin for your company regarding the issues you've been having connecting to their database? MeganS_VZW

Hello MeganS_VZW,

Thank you for responding to my inquiry.

Yes, I have been in contact with both our General Manager for my company, and the network admin. for our company (he is an outsourced IT support provider) about this issue. I am able to access our company's database remotely, but because of the built in security protocols of our system, IT Support must re-grant me access each time my IP address changes. This limits when I can access the database, as he cannot always respond promptly to my requests to get on the system. My G.M. has many other concerns to focus on for our small company. I was hoping to find a solution through Verizon, on my own. A fixed assigned IP would solve the problem, but I don't know what that would entail for Verizon.

Thanks for the update and I'm sorry you're dealing with this issue. We can help you with setting up a Static IP address but you must meet certain requirements. Do you have a Business line or account? This is not available for consumer accounts.
