Penalty Applied on $0 account after closing

We signed up for a special offer 3 years ago and kept the account open for the minimum 6 months as indicated in the promotional email sent to me

 

6 months after closing the account with $0 balance a collections account appeared on my credit report 

 

Dozens of attempts to contact Verizon via phone, email, fax, as directed by support...

NO RESPONSE FROM VZ

Hello, Veksnave. Help is here as we can assist with getting you pointed in the right direction. I see you stated that the account has now gone to collections. Did you call the number for the collection agency in question?

Hi Natasha, the penalty was applied incorrectly.  Verizon has to confirm and delete not the collections agency
