Switching from apple to Android (SIM Cards)

Hi I have an IPhone 5c under a family plan. and I just got a Sony Xperia Z3 from my friend for my birthday. He got it here (Amazon.com: Sony Xperia Z3 D6653 International Version No Warranty (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories). Can I just switch the sim to the new Sony phone and have everything fine and working normally?

That phone will not work on Verizon. It doesn't support Band 13 for LTE. Best to give it back to your friend or switch carriers if you want to use that phone.

I Hate to break it to you, but I do not see this phone working on Verizon. It does not have a CDMA radio which is still required for Verizon compatibility. You can try switching SIM (you'll need nano to micro SIM adapter), no harm, but I do not see it working or working very good. Which model number did you get?

So the non-Verizon phone the OP has will work perfectly with Verizon, even though it isn't a perfect match for the network?

Reference LTE Band 13 and Band 4 and lack of CDMA.

when you find out Verizon was wrong and that your phone model 6653 does not work on Verizon's network, please come back here and let us know you marked the wrong answer correct. Wishful thinking is not the same as a correct answer. The technical specs on that phone clearly show IT WILL NOT WORK. The Verizon rep is wrong.
