Anyone else here get talked into the Verizon Switch promotion where if you switch they pay off your other provider's final bill? Needless to say, we still owe our other provider $600 thanks to their empty promises.
IIt's not a ***** and you are mistaken. It's up to 650, if there is an early termination fee or device payments from the other carrier. They do not pay for your service; you are still responsible for that.
I paid off the service. My final bill was comprised of only device payments
and early term fees and they are sending me a gift card with only a quarter
of what the fees added up to be.

I switched in January and sent in my bill that showed my phone payoff was over 300. For some reason I have never received my prepaid visa. I received 144 upfront when I switched and the card is only going to be for $55. Something doesn't add up. They are screwing people out of money and they don't even know it until they are already signed up with a new verizon phone
I starting thinking this is a ***** after making 4 request for the prepaid postage trade in box. By the third week I expressed my concerns with the customer service rep that I think this is how they ***** people by delaying the shipping material and then turning around and saying it took to long for me to send it in. I finally received a letter (NO BOX) with a shipping label after 30 days of original request.So guess what happened.My promotion was denied because they didn't receive my phone in time.I called to complain and they apologized and said I should be expecting the 2 visa cards in a few weeks.NOT SO FAST.A couple weeks later I decided to check the status of the cards and now they seem to be denied.I call again today and they said they have to send it in for review and this will take 2 weeks..At this point I'M very frustrated with this whole promotion.
To any one else who is having issues please respond I think our only way to resolve this is to start a civil lawsuit.
We had absolutely no issues receiving the return boxes. We received $181 per phone credited towards our account. But now, they are only giving us $500 total on prepaid Visas to pay off our $867 bill for our previous provider. $500 is better than nothing, but I was told they pay off your phones...the $867 is just for the phones. It seems to me that they re using the credit from our old phone trade in as past of the payoff, which I was informed was a completely separate process. So far we have only received $252 worth od prepaid Visas, so we will see if I receive anymore from them. We made the switch at the beginning of March and had to contact both providers multiple times to get any answers. Switching has been a huge regret. Should've kept AT&T...
Same here. Switched from ATT in January under the assumption which was reinforced by the sales rep that the full cost of our AT&T buyout would be paid in cards through the mail. Fast forward until May and we still have received nothing and on top of that, they say they only owe us less than half of the 675 buyout because the trade in value of our year old Note 4 and Galaxy 6 were somehow labeled as a credit. How are the legitimate values of our phones a credit of any kind I ask?!!! Anyway since we signed a contract under deceptive pretenses (which I could go on at length about all the ***** artistry the rep pulled to deceive us into the contract) I mentioned I'd have to cancel my service since it has been an utter nightmare. At this point I'm advised that by cancelling I'd have to pay back the value of MY trade in phones and any other promo $ if I ever see any of it. I have never in my life seen such an outright and criminal case of fraud. It is an outrage and I cannot suggest enough to people to stay very far away from Verizon Wireless.
Mine was a note 4 also and it was in perfect condition. It had been in an Otterbox defender case from the time it was purchased. But I'm only going to get 199 for it. Over 100 less than was owed. Don't tell me you are paying off my phone to switch to your service then surprise I get screwed. It should not take 4 months to get these prepaid cards. And we need to stand up to these people and demand the money we were promised
Right with you brother. I actually talked to a great customer service rep named Scott today and he was exceedingly helpful in getting to the bottom of the matter and even just listening and understanding my issue. He has promised to get me my cards personally which is great even though they are over $300 less than i should be getting.The problem though is there is nothing he or seemingly anyone can do to help reverse the lies of the sales rep and the magic math she used to get our payment where we needed by stealing our phones at basically a $0 value since their value was applied as a credit. I am seething with animosity towards this company right now and I'm afraid I will just get nothing and be out hundreds of dollars waiting for any resolution internally. That's why I'm starting to look at outside sources of resolution including checking in here for other people's experiences and committing myself to warning people about their misrepresentation of contracts.

Maybe a lawsuit is the way to go.
I feel that it is a *****!!! I talked to many people they was never clear that I will be receiving both a value with my phone and another value to pay off my old provider. AND I've talked to over 10 people both online and on the phone about my situation. They brought my basically new iphone 6 for $209 which they didn't inform me that i can basically use only for my phone bill or i get store credit for it. Second they told me I would get up to 650 dollars to pay off my old phone bill. I didn't even receive half of it.... I received a email saying my card got shipped on july 21. I waited till aug 2 to finally call someone about it. They said my card was sent to a different state.. Like [removed].. And then they said my balance was going to be 243.72.... NOT EVEN [removed] HALF!!!! common verizon you guys make millions a year. I switched over because most phone company would pay off the whole final bill. I guess not this company! And want to hear something even more funny.. I finally received my card after almost a month. I only got 34.72.. REALLY I am very [removed]. Customer service for the promotional deal doesn't even help. If i knew I wasn't even going to receive help for my final bill I wouldn't had switch.

Hi everyone. I know everyones upset about this promo but maybe I can help clear things up. I read this post as well as another one and there's a lot of angry people.
I pulled up the Terms and Conditions to see if I can help out.
I won't post the T's&C's here but click the link to view it.
Here we go!
Step 1: Switch to Verizon and we’ll give you up to $650.Switch your number from any postpaid wireless carrier to Verizon, trade in your current phone, and activate a new 4G LTE smartphone purchased on device payment plan.
So, as long as you follow this you should be good. It's important to pay attention to wording especially when dealing with a lot of money like this... It states that if you Switch to Verizon using a Port In (take the old number from your old carrier and taking it to VZW) and it was postpaid service you will receive up to $650. You also have to trade in your old phone and it must value greater than $0. You also must purchase a NEW 4G LTE smartphone on device payment plan. 2 year agreements automatically void you from the promo.
Step 2: Trading in your phone.
As I said above, you must trade in your old phone and it must be the same phone (they check the Device ID) that was listed on the agreement/contract. If you say you owe $300 on an iPhone 6 and you send in a iPhone 5, you will not qualify. Attention to the order of steps is critical as well, you must trade in your device BEFORE REGISTERING. Failure to do this will not log your device being returned as a promotional offer and you will not receive the money for it. The device also must be in good working conditions. This doesn't really pertain to the money but also a good note to take: Device trade-in transactions are final; after you trade in your phone, you cannot get it back.
Step 3: Registering for the Promotion
Next, after you complete the above steps, you have to actually register for the promotion by clicking here. Enter in the promotional code, 54-456 to claim the promotion. This promo code does not expire until the promotion expires. Within 60 days (from when you switched to VZW) you must upload your final bill from your old carrier to the site. The bill must list the ETF or Device Payment Plan for that phone number. Then just upload the Trade in receipt and your good to go. Next, ensure as I stated above, that every phone number/line you are porting and wanting to use the promo are done separately. Failure to do this will result you only getting it for those numbers/lines you submitted. Also, the Submitted bill must match the mobile number that was switched to Verizon.
Step 4: Promotional Reimbursement
Money!! This next part is really REALLY important if you want all the monies you are qualified for. It is made up of 2 parts.
Part 1: Fair Market Trade In Value - The value of which the device is worth to a business if VZW were to re-sell. Your $600 used device will not retain that same value after re-sell.
Part 2: Verizon Wireless Visa® Prepaid Card in amount of carrier’s Early Termination Fee (up to $350) or final device payment plan balance (up to $650), including lease purchase option if applicable, minus device trade-in credit provided by Verizon.
I should explain ^ this part since it's short but complicated. The promo states you can receive UP TO $650. Doesn't mean you will receive that value. You will get a prepaid card in the amount of the ETF (up to $350) **OR** up to $650 for Device Payment Agreement. You will NOT receive both and ETF and DPA on the same card. Take note that the value of the phone you traded in is subtracted from the balance of the DPP or ETF. For example, Johnny signs up for the promo with his iPhone 6 with an ETF of $175. His iPhone 6 is 1 year old with AT&T. Since the iPhone 6 retail price is $549.99, after 1 year it's value has dropped significantly. Lets (for easy numbers) say it dropped to a value of $125.00. Now when he submitted his bill, he will receive a card with the value of the trade in value subtracted from the ETF. So Johnny will receive a card for $50.00. A credit will be applied to the account for $125.00 for the device trade-in value.
Step 5: Taxes
Remember that any taxes or surcharges are NOT reimbursed.
Step 6: Staying Up On Bills
It is required by the promotion that you must be in good standing for 45 consecutive days. This means you CANNOT have a past due balance.
Step 7: Cancelling Service
If you cancel your service before the 6 month period, you can and will be charged the same amount you were given to pay off the other carrier.
Step 8: Cards will be mailed via the U.S. Postal Service within 8 weeks after receipt of claim and will be mailed to the billing address on file with Verizon Wireless.
Hope I helped clear up the process. When dealing with money promotions that can cause big problems ALWAYS LOOK UP TERMS AND CONDITIONS and read them carefully. You should be able to trust the company that is doing the promotion but you should always check anyways to be sure you are doing it correctly.

Verizon promos are fraud, they promise things just to make you switch and do not honor their promos, I was promised 650 for each line and pay off the device final bill but they did not honor it. They made me jump through hoops I have literally made 100 of calls to Verizon since the time I signed up, honestly the worst decision of my life. Customer service at Verizon is not accurate in providing information needed to go through the process. I signed up over the phone so I was told that two empty boxes will arrive in mail and I'm supposed to send my hardly used phones from sprint to Verizon, after waiting for weeks and making so many calls to Verizon nobody tells me that to get the boxes I have to go through appraisal process, finally I got lucky and customer service rep told me there is an appraisal process to receive the boxes, bingo found the first puzzle piece, and of course appraisal process took another 3 weeks since we had issues with it as well. Now finally after 2 months and 2 weeks I submitted the phones in the boxes and provided with all the information Verizon needed and received an email saying the period expired and they cannot honor the promo. Now I'm sitting on $1700 bill owed to other provider, which includes device cancellation fees and early termination fees. Verizon took my perfectly good working condition brand new Note 5 and LG G4 and gave me 140 dollars as store credit and did not honor the promo. If they check their records hear all the calls I made they will know the disappointment and frustration I'm going through right now. I you are looking to switch to Verizon please save yourself from disappointment they are total *****, worst customer service and worst of all do not their customers, Verizon is nightmare please save yourself from this *****
The switch promotion is a reimbursement. You have to pay your old carrier FIRST and then submit the paperwork to get reimbursed SECOND.
It dosent matter weather I pay my old providers bill before the processing or after, im paying out of pocket anyways. The issue is verizon deliberately delaying the process of promo processing and then turning around telling the customer they cannot honor the promo as time period expires. Please go back and check hundered's of calls i made to verizon and listen to the convo and then tell me was delay from your side or mine?

I would like all the customers screwed by this sham to get a class action lawsuit together. The sad fact is that these huge companies count on this and find it is better for their bottom line to screw their members out of what they promise knowing it MIGHT lead to a lawsuit than to do the right thing in the first place and pay out what they promise.
In other words, like drug companies they make a lot more money being dishonest and fighting a lawsuit than they do being honest and not risking a lawsuit even if this means people die. This is because the lawsuit will cost less than paying out for promised benefits. Thanks Verizon for living up to this ideal, luckily no one will die as a result of your petty miserly ways...unless they die of anger and frustration in dealing with you and your "customer service" experts.
You have just re-confirmed the petty, cynical view of Verizon. Always rely on the fine print and deliberately misleading language to draw people in and then pull the rug out from under them. I didn't even receive a dime much less something near $650. I couldn't even get your lousy company to fork over a measly $230 even though your company said it would. You are just a bunch of criminals. You make me sick.
