swapping phone numbers between 2 lines on a family plan possible?

Hi friends,

We have 2 lines on a family plan. Line 1 has Samsung Intensity in red. Line 2 has Motorola Rival in tin silver. Motorola Rival has malfunctioned... I hear no sounds when making or receiving calls. They will replace the phone but they don't have Motorola Rival in tin silver in stock... they have it in purple color. My question is that can I swap phone numbers between 2 lines so that line 1 will have motorola rival in purple and line 2 will have samsung intensity in red. Will they charge any fees for doing this?

You should be able to do that from your MyVerizon account once you get the new phone. Just log in, and choose to activate the new phone on Line 1, which will free up the Intensity, then activate the Intensity on Line 2.

Shouldn't cost anything to do it online or over the phone.

That is correct you can activate the new Samsung Intensity in purple on line 1, an then activate the Samsung Intensity in red on line 2. You can activate the phones in your online account, or over the cell phone by dialing *228 and listen to the prompts. Just make sure that you activate the new phone on line 1 first, so it will free up the Intensity in red to be activated on line 2.

What about having to active phone numbers already on phones that I want to switch each phone number between phones? ie: phone 1 has number 000-000-0000 with the iphone 4s and phone 2 has number 111-111-1111 with a thunderbolt. can number 111-111-1111 go to the iphone 4s and vise versa?

yes. online or calling from a 3rd phone.
