I have stuck with VZ through price hikes, bad service, poor customer service etc. The 5G has been an absolute nightmare. You go into a VZ these days and you’re either told to schedule an appointment or you get sales reps who don’t know up from down about the products they are supposed to be selling.
Today was the last straw for me.
I called VZ customer service to inquire about phone plans for a basic phone. I am not a senior citizen. I am an older millennial who wishes to simply go back to a basic phone to be more productive and avoid the internet, social media, apps etc. There is a misconception that only the elderly want the simplicity of a basic phone.
The basic phone selection offered by VZ is horrible and leaves much to be desired. I think this is intentional to sway people from going that route.
The rep I got informed me I will have to go prepaid and the cheapest prepaid plan is $30 a month.
Right now I’m paying $71.00 a month for a smartphone. Corporate discounts are no longer a thing with VZ. So I had to sign up for autopay in order to get $10 off my bill, which otherwise would be $81.00 for one line. Additionally, I do not like autopay. I have never had a problem paying my bill on time on my own. However, because they took away my corporate discount this was the route I was told to go.
I have done my research and there are companies out here like US mobile offering the same basic plan as VZ for $6 a month compared to $30 a month at VZ.
The rep tried to tell me I won’t get the same reliable service if I switch. I made it a point to tell her my service hasn’t been reliable since they switched to 5G and has been going down hill for years..
I’m over this company and it’s greed. It makes no sense the way it has fallen out of favor with the public.
I needed to rant.
