Asus zen z10

I have a Asus ZenPad Z10 and the soft keys do not light up making it very difficult to navigate overall even in decent lighting conditions. Do the soft keys simply just don't light up or is there a defect in my tablet? I tried everything I can think of to tweak in regards to settings and the soft keys simply do not light up at all.

That is strange that these soft keys are not lighting up. When did this problem start to happen? Have you tried to reset your device? https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-207057/.

Those buttons are not back lit. It is not a defect.
