Autopay date

Verizon advertises that you can set up your preferred date for autopay, but won't let me enter the first day of the month, which is the date it is due at the present time. Only gives me a window of 5 days, all of which are not good for me. Why can't I enter the first day of each month?

I don't use auto pay myself, but as I understand it the auto pay window is set to be a few days before the bill is actually due so there is an opportunity for the customer to pay manually if something goes wrong with the automatic payment.

If you really need the payment to be sent on the 1st of the month, you can choose to change your billing cycle dates to shift your bill due date to say the 5th of the month.

The latest autopay will fall is approx 3 days before your due date. Due date is 8 days before the cycle ends.

If you're looking for it to draft on the 1st, your due date will have to be the 4th. This translates to a billing period that starts the 13th and ends the 12th of the following month.

12 - 8 gets us 4. 3 from that gets us the 1st. You can request to have your cycle changed to match.

*Note that this will create a typical 30 day bill + a mini bill based off number of days your cycle was moved.

Also if there is an active device payment agreement, there will be a two device payments charged for each line with an active device payment agreement on it.

I would guess insurance might also be charged twice too.

It clarifies but doesn't allow me to make what I want to do happen. I recently changed my payment date to the first due to retirement and when I received retirement checks. It was such a hassle, I hate to do that again, just to make the autopay date on the first of each month. I was only changing to auto pay for the discount, and figured I could set up autopay for the first as it is now so I could receive the auto pay discount. In my opinion, your auto pay billing is not very user friendly as it should allow me to set any date I wish, not what Verizon or your computer thinks it should be.

You can either request for cycle to be moved 3 days up if the due date was already moved to the 1st.

Alternatively, keep track of what you owe each month and don't spend it so it can draft.
