Checking contacts changes

My phone has a feature where it lights up and says it's checking for any contacts adds/deletes. Seems to do it a lot when I go to use phone, so have to wait until it's through to use. It also lights up in the middle of the night to check changes. If I forget to turn the phone around, it lights up the bedroom. Seems like once or twice a day would be enough. How can I adjusts the frequency?

I have tried your suggestion 4 times. 3 times I picked morning and it

still did day and night. I then picked late evening, but nothing changed.

What's the point of picking a time to update if it's going to update over

and over. I don't know about other people, but my contacts rarely change,

so why on earth would they have the phone check so often?? Once a week

would be fine, this is ridiculous.
