I cannot get my WiFi to stay on...the green dot says it is on and I can turn WiFi on, but it turns off immediately. I am burning up my data. Help?

Please help.....my WiFi has a green light on. But my WiFi is only on for a couple of seconds and then disconnects itself. As a result, I am burning thru my data. Anyone had this problem before?
