I hate what my LG V20 is like now since forced update. Why do they have to keep fixing stuff that isnt broken???

I'm happy Verizon is allowing us to update our phones. When I had a Verizon Windows phone, they rarely allowed patches to be pushed out. It was maddening to see other brands with newer OS versions.
My V20 stopped charging batteries since the Oreo update. Well, the phone is confused about what the battery level is. This is with trying multiple Fast Charge plugs, USB-C cables, and batteries. As well, it might be the charging jack on my phone. To replace it requires me to replace the $150 motherboard if it is shot.
I'm thinking that (for me) now is the prime time to upgrade my V20 to a V30 or a G7. Right now, VZW will give me $100 for this POS and then I can get wireless charging with a newer phone.
Note that the LG V40 was announced and will be released by LG to the public at the end of this month. Perhaps it will be available from VZW in Nov/Dec. It retails at $900 and has five (5) cameras - ridiculous. To the point, when VZW starts offering it, they may stop offering the $100 trade-in on the LG V20. Just guessing here.

I hate it too! Now I can't unload pic on the FB app, sometimes you can't reply to a text. I keep getting the box where a lot of apps are not working. Then it closes the app.
Forced update and now many of my apps (facebook, whatsapp, message+) cannot upload photos from gallery. App links to gallery with no photos and then restarts app. The canned answers dont resolve.

All apps are updated, still no joy
All apps updated consistently..
After update, apps do not call up media database to upload photos. Apps are updated, caches cleared, etc.
Same here..where's Tech support?
I done the factory reset on my phone. It only lasted a day. Then the same problems again. It looks like there are a lot of people having the same problems. Could it be the issue was the reset like everyone is trying to tell Verizon?I am so over this stuff. How about Verizon looking into the last update and fix the problem for everybody?

If you are speaking of the software update then keep in mind that Verizon is not the developer of the update. It is sent to carriers by the developers. When then notify you via your device that an update is available. What issue are you having? Please provide details.

Uploading pictures you've taken on your phone and sharing them in other apps is something I do all the time, so I totally understand you wanting to be able to still do this after your software update. I'm sorry to hear your troubleshooting so far has not rectified the issue. We are definitely committed to getting you a fix. Everybody please post your latest reset. My phone has the VS99520b. It was updated on 10-20. I even done the factory reset. Same problem with phone. If we all have the same reset program number. The same issues looks like it might be the problem! VS99520b
I too am having issues with the update. Now I get a missed call notification after every call. And that is with ALL notifications turned off. It takes several seconds from the time I tap the phone icon before the phone screen actually shows up. The new on screen keyboard is a different layout than before. I regularly receive calls that require me to accept them by tapping a number and this causes problems from what I was used to. Changing a keyboard layout is NOT an efficient OR necessary update. Texting also has delay issues now as well as caller ID. I use HIYA for caller ID. It was, and is, way more efficient than the Verizon version. I have uninstalled and reinstalled HIYA and it made no change in the problems I'm having. I also use blacklist plus which allows me to block an entire area code. Same thing. Uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. The only thing that has remained unchanged is Touchlock. Why is there no way to go back to the previous version until you get the issues fixed?
PURPLEROSE_NC, I know from experience how frustrating it can be to experience issues following a software update especially since those updates are meant to improve our devices as well as keep them current/compatible with other devices running newer technology and more secure. It's important to us that our customers devices are always working properly and we appreciate you performing that factory reset to see if it would correct the behavior. Please know that we are lifting up any trending topics we see to LG as it relates to the latest software update received on that V20. Our device forum submissions to the manufacturer do determine the fixes needed in subsequent updates if a prior update caused something to go awry and needs to be addressed.

We have an update as of 10/18/2018.
Although, we can't revert to any previous software versions you want to make sure your apps are up to date.
Keep in mind, when there is a device software update, there may also need to be application updates that need to be done by the application developer to work with the newer software version. We recommend submitting feedback to the application developer for any issues with apps. We hope this information is helpful with the process.

My LGK20V no longer connects to Android Auto in VW Atlas. This his has occurred after most recent update to phone. I plugged in a LG3G which does connect to Android Auto so connection issues are with the LGK20V. Also uninstalled and reinstalled Android Auto and updates are current. Is there a fix for this? Really miss my maps/navigation. Not loving phone now!
Ditto..Ditto...every time they do an update, something gets messed up. I keep getting a message "unfortunately cloud keeps stopping". How do I fix it?

I know how imperative it is to stay connected with the right hands-free options in your car. I apologize for the hassle this has caused. I would be happy to investigate the concerns with the app further. May I ask what is the current baseband and system version found via Settings>About Phone? While you have uninstalled the app, I would also suggest clearing the cache and data through Settings>Apps>Android Auto>Storage as the cached data can remain even after removing and reinstalling the app. We are eager to bring back your satisfaction with your device!

It's important your device is functioning properly and you still have access to features needed, GEORGEUSX. Android Auto is a Google app that may no longer be compatible with your device. What happens when trying to connect? Do you receive any error messages?

Thank you YaleK_VZW for your reply. I cleared the cache and data and still cannot connect to Android Auto in the car. The baseband is MPSS.JO.2.0.c1.2-00044-8937_GENNS_PACK-1 Not sure what is meant by system version. FYI: Android version is 7.0. and Software version is VX5011AA
Thanks for your response. There is no error message, only the usual message "Welcome to App-Connect. Please connect a device using the USB" Then there are 3 highlighted options (Android Auto, Apple Car Play, and Mirror Link) to click on to connect. I always clicked on Android Auto. The three choices are no longer highlighted so clicking on them achieves nothing. I have also tried different cords, they all charge the phone but there is no connection to the car. Also, Android Auto does work on my phone. It just does not connect to the car's system.

Why are location services required to open the weather widget? That is the most ludicrous requirement ever. A) I do not want apps or other things like photos to know my GPS location. my parents live in Florida. Id like to know the weather there so I can pack. My location in pa certainly isn't necessary to give me a weather report for a FL location it already has the zip code for. C) unrelated... what's the purpose of changing the icons? Unless you've significantly decreased the memory and power by using new icons, jjust leave them ALONE! Cripes.
If they wanted us to "love our phone" as they claim we'd be given the option to truly reject unwanted updates.
Has anyone considered that we don't want you updates AT ALL? I don't care about compatibility. I don't want App updates EITHER. I've turned them off. If this forced system update is all about compatibility then it's counter productive because I NEVER update the apps. I paid for my phone. I'm paying for a service. Delivery my calls and texts and provide me with the data I pay for otherwise stay out of my phone and keep your updates to yourself.
