I strongly encourage you all

Utilize the 'search' function for this forum, as I've been noticing that a lot of threads that are asking about the same things, and really all it takes is a simple search to go and find your answers, as I can't answer them all.

On a sadder note, I've had to make the switch to AT&T, because no other provider (And believe me when I say that I've tested them all -- most stores hate me since I've done about two returns each) covers my area and where I love as well and as much as AT&T.

And so for the sake of work purposes, and the ability to go online, and to make calls I had to get a phone that was up to pace with today's standards, and that was a good phone. I'm sorry to say it, as it feel like I'm betraying all my friends here, but I got the iPhone :smileysad:

To answer your questions:

Yes I'm miserable with this phone.

Yes I do tend to drag down the top thinking it's a notification pane.

Yes I miss my widgets.

Yes I miss the Market (The Android has better options to chose from, more that are entirely usefull).

And most of all, I miss my data being fully and realistically being pushed to me constantly. I hate that I have to open up another app to go and look at my tweets. I hate that I have to go into Facebook to see if someone commented me. I hate that there is no LED, no vibrating options whatsoever to let me know I recieve information.

This is where I feel the Iphone fails terribly at.

So that's why I haven't been posting over the past few days, I really feel like a hypocrite.

Good news though, my wife said that if I hated the phone enough, that she and I could switch so that I can go back to my MT3G and T-Mobile (Which she now has, as I couldn't bear to see it just laying collecting dust on my desk).

If you guys wish I won't post here anymore, because I have no desire to earn the title "Oh that guy who knows everything abotu android but owns an iPhone" guy.

Sorry to see you go, so to speak. I for one would welcome any and all help or comments you contribute, whether or not you still have an Android phone.

You have shown yourself to be helpful and considerate. Two qualities that are sorely lacking in today's world.

I hope your experience with the iPhone becomes a pleasent one eventually. I would own one if Verizon sold them, if not for the Droid.

Thank you so much Grey, that was incredibly nice.

Please, if anyone is reading this don't think for a second that I'm not keeping up with Android, or anything like that. My wife still has the MT3G and I probably use it more than she.

Call it conscience but I just get this incredible pang of guilt posting with this wretched piece of hardware in my pocket.

See, this, this is what kind of makes me twitch.

Never said that I think Iphone is a better choice.

Said because of coverage in my area I pretty much didn't have any other choice. I had T-Mobile AND Verizon. And both hardly had any signal in my area.

i went back and I did mis read what you wrote....Suxs that at&t is the best signal choice you have... I do beleive I would do without rather than go back to at&t.....

SUPER Mike, Please know that we appreciate all your answers for our android questions that you have given us. I will say that I do not mind if you continue to post. We really do need someone who knows his stuff and is so helpful.

Sucks to hear that. I know how you feel since I switched from an iPhone 3GS. I absolutely love my Droid - the signal quality, speed, customization, widgets, and that *fantastic* screen are all superb. I don't miss my iPhone at all.

Well down here in Florida, call quality is just fine. I'm at 3G Four bars at minimum at work, home, and everywhere else I go. The speed on the phone is just fine. In fact, its slightly faster, and less twitchier than the Droid, or rather, than any other Android phone out there.

If anyone knows me, they know that ever since I've stepped my foot on these forums I've never called the iPhone crap. I know it's a good phone. There are a lot of people here who know it too (Though it seems that just because we're on a Verizon site, there needs to be an 'ipod sux lawl' thread going on), they just seem to deny that it's a good device. They wont say it if Verizon ever got the iPhone, though, which I've always found to be ironic (You know, the whole "If it's not on my network it sucks[edit]" thing).

Thanks for the tip on the Search function to the forum. Sorry you don't have good Verizon coverage. Where I live Verizon's coverage is better than everyone else. One of the problems of our cell phone network versus Europe where all companies share towers and have the same coverage. Please continue to respond to questions here. You have been helpful to many people. Thanks again.

Yeah the 3Gs is a worthy phone. I think the 4g will be much better. I personally don't like the iPhone mostly for the same reasons I don't like the Eris. Virtual keypads are going to have to get much better before I can even think about using them. Fear not though it is confirmed that AT&T is getting at least one Android phone. It will be made by Dell and has been rejected by everyone but China so far so they are getting it but not jumping in with both feet by any means. They will get more and then you will have Android and coverage. Around here AT&T and Verizon are about the same coverage wise. There are a few spots where both lose coverage there seem to be fewer with Verizon than AT&T but it depends on where you live. My wife was wanting us to switch to AT&T because there were apps the iPhone has that Android doesn't (mostly ereaders) that she wanted and she really wanted a cool smart phone. I was a bit nervous about that cause I had issues on Bell South before they were swallowed and because all they have is iPhone and some WinMo phones. I was afraid I was headed towards a feature phone but now she has decided she wants a feature phone and a Kindle. LOL. Sorry to hear it.

Thanks for the reassurance. That Dell phone's UI looks wretched, and if it doesn't get an overhaul down here in the US then I'm not going to go near it.

My largest fear is that I don't want people to come to these forums thinking that it's *Just* partial to Verizon forums. I go on the T-Mobile Forums, I go to the Sprint forums as well. The most that I'm active on is here (despite the fact that I have a T-Mobile Android phone), because this community really appreciates the work I did for them.
