LG G6 Software Update Won't Complete

There was a notification on my phone today that a software update (15) was available and asking if I want to download. I said Yes. After the download, I tapped on Install and it started to run, but after a reboot and on install step 1/2 it gives me an error message 0x1124000 and then it reboots without completion. I have tried it several times.

I also tried to run the system updater from my computer, but after the software installs on my computer, the Next button is greyed out and all I can do is cancel.

What can I do to get this update installed?

Yes, I am using WiFi and the battery is fully charged and connected to a power source during the attempted update.

Just wanted to let you know that I located the LG Update Utility on the Verizon site and it was able to download and run correctly on my computer and was able to connect to my phone, BUT, it says there is no software update available.

I received the same software update 15 today, downloads just fine, begins the install, restarts and gives a black screen with the word err: 0x1124000.

Tried 3 times and each time it produces the same error. I tried using the verizon utility to update and it fails to update as well, so I trying the repair option to see if that resolves the issue as a last resort method.

After doing a repair on my phone the update is now completing. Not what I preferred doing as I have a lot to restore, but this seems to have resolved the issue with the error.

I have been having trouble installing Update 15 also that was pushed out to my LG G6 VS988 on 10-2-2020. But the update will not load due to error "0x1124000"; error code 410. So i have attempted to load the SUA tool to install this update

However I am unable to install the SUA tool in order to install Update 15.

My scenario is:

I have my phone connected to my laptop via USB.

I get as far as having the dialog box open to install the SUA tool but the "Next" link at the lower right hand part of the box is not enabled. I kind of wonder if it is my McAfee Total Protection utility that is preventing this…and if i understand things correctly i can not use the Repair tool at this point.

Are there any work arounds or solutions for this issue?

Same exact problem for me. I don't think it is McAfee since I don't have that.

I located an LG updater app on the Verizon site and it runs and gets past the next button not working, locates my phone, checks for updates but then says no update is available!

Something must be wrong with the update itself.

Same - er:0x1124000 on the OTA push. When using the update tool, indicates I am up to date and to do a reset if device is slow or unstable.

I've never had an update issue with my G6 before this one...

Phone works fine without the update, and I'm certainly not going to wipe the phone clean and reinstall everything just to install an update..that's idiotic.

I'm having the same issue, too. For now, until we get a resolution to this, I just told my phone not to try to download and install this update.

Same issue, tried 3 times. Fully charged. Plugged in. WiFi strong. Plenty of storage space. 62% ram memory in use. During install 1/2 progress bar stops at the same place each time and error screen. 0x1124000.

following this thread, same issue here on my LG G6. Phone is fully charged and good WiFi . During the installation I get Err: 0x1124000.

I am having the same issue and just got prompted for the update today. I too try the method of connecting phone to computer and using the Software Upgrade Assistant and get that my software is "up to date" already. I did find that it may take a week for update to be pushed to the Assistant though. Maybe that is the issue? Being that a lot posted on 10/2 that would make it available around 10/9.

Exact same issue. It tries to install 1 of 2 updates, it restarts then gives the error code everyone else has given. Then stops the update and doesn't change anything on phone. I have full battery and good Wi-Fi in my house.

Same issue here on the VS988. Tried it twice; but 'System Updates' section of the phone settings first said unsuccessful in the status section with error code 410. Now it says 'applied' in green font, but it keeps asking me to download and reinstall until I reply 'no'. If I 'check for system update', it still thinks I haven't applied it and gives me the option to download again.

Anyone have any luck? Still not working for me.

I wish they would just fix the problem and send out a different update.

I resent having to create a profile just to add myself to this stream of all who are having this same issue. It looks safe to say the problem is not with all of us. Is a fix for this issue being addressed short of all of us wiping out our existing stuff? Will it be automatic or will we need to continue following this thread?

Have all of you experiencing this issue provided FEEDBACK to the application developers, reporting the 'bug'? Maybe if enough do, there will be a response that someone can post.

The problem App is a System Update (number 15) pushed to the phone from Verizon. That is why it is posted here in the Verizon forum. It will not install.

I called LG. They told me VS98830a (my software version) has no update and I should just ignore the update we're all struggling with. Also, I am the first he's heard about the problem.

Sounds like you didn't get to someone who was aware there is probably a team/group that develops the software version for the Verizon network.

I have the same problem. Won't update after many attempts and trying different methods.

From my chat with Verizon, here is Tech Coach's response:

"I saw this issue going on as well today. What we can do from here is have this issue pushed to our IT team to check out whats going on with the update. I assure they will be able to fix the software issue and have your device continue the update, For now, if you are able to, go ahead and inore that update"

Thank you all for the info! I actually thought commenting here would be making it known to them, hence my attitude. Will sit back for now and hope to see a new update soon, but if there's somewhere I should report it now to increase the complaints please let me know.

Same problem. Found this thread after trying at least 3 times, all failed.

I do see where we are supposed to ignore the update until somehow it gets fixed so how to I stop it from popping up on my phone constantly?

Yep, add me to the list... This is quite infuriating, you have to wait for Verizon to release the update, then when they do it does not work. If your going to control the hardware, then at least make a decent effort instead of releasing it haphazardly and with what appears to be a major flaw.....

I spent ALL of yesterday trying to download the update my LG G6. Kept getting Err: Ox1124000.

Chatted with Verizon. Did EVERYTHING they told me, including safety mode, reset, turning off my phone, taking out the SIM card for 15 minutes. Nothing! Was also told I was eligible to upgrade my phone. UGH! Daughter has same problem. T-Mobile, even Tracphone is looking good now. Why not, my contact is up.

Have you tried a Factory Data Reset? Are you both in a good coverage area and connected to WiFi?

Ran into this snafu this morning on my corporate phone. Tried the upgrade 3x and get the following,

Phone update error = Err: 0x 1124000
Update fails code 410

Looked at the Upgrade Assistant and why is Verizon kidding, no way I am going to reset my phone to factory defaults and lose all my apps and data. Turning off updates until Verizon or LG has a fix and wiping out a device is not a solution.

Count me in as well. Same exact problem, same exact results to all efforts. Same disgust and extreme irritation with response from both VZ and LG. Google Fi and Pixel are looking really good at this point.

Your update is obviously the problem with so many of us having the same issue. Went into a Verizon store and they couldn't make it work.when will you have the update fixed?

Same here. Downloaded the installer through the phone, but it was no updates available. Meanwhile every morning the phone tries to get me to update it. This is ridiculous.

Please stop asking each person trite questions such as if they have a good wireless connection or a fully charged battery! This seems to be a waste of both our time and your time.

QUESTION: How can I temporarily turn off all the reminders asking me if I want to update?

Add another to unable to update. Will download but not update. I deleted quite a bit or moved to the SD card to make sure I had room but still no go.

I dont have 5G at my house with Verizon, but do with T Mobile, thinking I will be changing carriers. And they will get a new phone are a great price. I agree.

Wi-Fi is on. I have done both. I have also used the updater by cord. I have plenty of memory. No one is going to do a factory reset. Verizon posted in those forum already that they have stopped the update and will be rereleasing an updated version.

Ok, I've had the problem of software not updating, and suddenly today I have another problem. Are the two related?

For about one and half years I've used wifi calling which greatly helps reception in my house.

Today I can't get people to hear me, and my "wifi calling" option has disappeared from my settings.

1. I have made NO other changes to my phone or my home wireless.

2. The phone is charged and connected to my wireless network. I can get on-line with my phone, so the wireless is working.

3. I've re-booted the phone.

SO why has wifi calling suddenly disappeared??? And will it come back by itself, or do I have to do something?

We don't always test our software but when we do, we do it in production.

I have the same problem. I took my phone to the Verizon Tech store on 10/9 and the tech couldn't help me. I called LG tech support and reported the problem.

This seems to have done the trick for me. Thanks for the info.

One of the members posted a fix that worked for me. I'm surprised the support team hasn't posted it. All they said was "it's an LG problem, call them. Balony. Is a space problem. Go to factory settings and clear your cache.

1. Power off the phone.

2. Power back up with both the back button and the down volume button held down

3. The factory settings screen comes up. Use the down volume button to go down to "clear cashe"

4.Use the back button to select clear cashe

5. When it's clear, try the update again.

I would just like to let people know that I was finally able to do the System 15 update today. Thank you to the developers for fixing the error.

Agreed. My daughter's phone completed the update successfully yesterday morning. Thank you Verizon for actually acknowledging a problem and fixing it!

Mine is still not working, same error. Every day the darn thing tries and fails. I'm quite tired of this, either fix it or I'm done with both LG and Verizon....
