Need help understanding a Notification That I have received on my LG G VISTA phone

I recently out of the ordinary received a notification saying exactly

"Message connected over wifi"

I have not saved messages onto my SD card or haven't in any way send messages over wifi connection- I'm not even sure how to do that anyways when I have a service plan- active account- So i am very confused.. PLEASE help & thanks in advance.

Thank you for contacting us, Krista. We understand your concern. Are you using Verizon Messages Plus? If so, this application has the option to send messages using your Wi-Fi connection. If you are not using this application, what message application do you use? When did you first receive these notifications? Is your device on the most recent software available?
