Hello community members,
In an effort to consolidate all user concerns into one place, this will now be the official Samsung Pay thread. Please post all comments about Samsung Pay here.
Thank you,
-Joe
In an effort to consolidate all the existing threads and point the community members to this thread, can you please link this thread to the end of the existing discussions and lock those threads?
Listen..... I WANT MST. Everyone else on these forms want the same thing. There's a big difference between Android pay (NFC ~1mill locations) and Samsung Pay (NFC AND MST ~30 mill locations). No one wants a limited service. So stop loosing hundreds of good customers. Suck it up and support Samsung Pay before you loose more of us fed up customers....
So you're bringing us here....now where is samsung pay?!
I guess the other thread was getting too full of piss off verizon customers!! good job verizon!! Give me more vz navigator!!
I know that has been discussed at length, but I want to throw my name in the pot as a customer that would prefer Samsung Pay over Andriod pay! I purchased a Galaxy device so that I could use ALL of the features.. not just the ones that Verizon wants me to use.
I talked with a rep today, all he said was that I could use Android pay.. thanks Verizon, thank you for choosing the apps I can use with my phone. Next time I purchase a phone, it won't be through or with Verizon, I'll spend my $600 elsewhere and my $120 per month elsewhere.
Joe - Verizon is not communicating with their customers as they promised to do. What is going on? There is a strong demand for Samsung Pay, which is superior to Android & Apple Pay. Please help us.
/z
Well, there probably wouldn't be 300 threads if you just enabled the Samsung Pay feature that your customers have already paid for.
But since you'd rather have a discussion instead of just enabling a feature that's already there and already live, then tell me: Why does Verizon Wireless always nerf the phones on the supposed best network?
Everyone should also reply to their twitter account!!

We all want mst and only samsung pay can offer this but you Verizon are the only one blocking off customers from using a technology that already came with our phones. Please just stop "evaluating" it and allow your customers to use there phone how they'd like... Before you lose more customers
Something else Verizon customers are missing out on... Free wireless charger or a free phone case. Who wouldn't want a free wireless charger valued at $49.99?? The offer is only good until 10/11/2015, I am sure Verizon will announce support for Samsung Pay AFTER the promotion... if ever. Thanks again Verizon!
http://www.samsung.com/us/samsung-pay/
T-Mobile will help buy you out of verizon which is what I'll be doing this week. Not missing out on features and promotions just because verizon feels like it.
omg verizon. Are you this dumb not to see all your customers are leaveing?!?! Give us samsung pay!!! ANYONE who wants this must coment on this thread so they know we're out there!!! Its the only reason i bought my Galaxy S6 edge and I'm MAD!!!!!!!!
Just for the record. My brother in law bought an unlocked Galaxy S6 and is using it on ATT. Android pay is available and will work with the limited credit cards. If he searches Samsung pay, he gets redirected to Andriod Pay and new Google Wallet.
Do we really need to do this again? Most of us, excepting new people, have already voiced our opinion concerning this situation. We know what we want, and we have expressed our thoughts about this. If you want a discussion, let's talk about how frustrating it is for us to be left out and ignored. Can we talk about that?
We definitely have a discussion on how Verizon just sucks.
Yes, fill this form with all the pissed off customers. I hate this bs with Verizon delaying our updates and use of essential softwear!!!
I don't understand how it is legal for you all to block a feature of my phone... And you block it even when I'm not on your network. Last night I was on the phone with Samsung... I was also using my note 5 on tmobile's network with their APN for data... It's absolute crap that you have Samsung pay blocked and even more crappy that I can't even use it when I'm an entirely different network... It was a great learn though, now I know my phone works great with T-Mobile... Maybe I'll switch to their service so I don't have to have features of MY phone disabled for no reason.
I find it rather humorous that all these people bought this one $700 phone for one feature. Even sadder still is that when Verizon does approve Spay, they will use it once or twice, and then the newness will have worn off and the struggle would have been all for naught.
You may be correct, but I bought my phone for all of the possibilities, I didn't buy it hoping that I could use half of the functionality. After paying $700, I should be able to use what I want, when I want and as many times as I would like... why should Verizon care? They already have my money and keep getting more every month... Obviously the app is sound or the other companies wouldn't have adopted it and I am sure Samsung stands behind the product. What's the hold up with Verizon?
and please don't mention android pay... we don't care... we want what att, sprint, and t-mobile customers have access to SAMSUNG PAY
Verizon announced support. Now the only question is when is the future???
Verizon News on Twitter: "Samsung Pay will be supported on compatible Verizon smartphones (Galaxy S 6, S 6 edge, Note5, …
That probably means in 3-6 months!! LOL
"Future" is a broad word..... there goes my free wireless charger. Stupid.
Ok so the future. Given that Verizon takes longer than any other carrier to get updates out, I would guess we should get sometime in Jan 2016. If we get it at all. I do not believe anything Verizon says on this issue.
Unicorns, pixie dust, and Verizon CEO caring about customers are all in the same category. Believe if you want to but....
Here's the thing. Many of us have previously voiced our concerns toward VZW blocking Samsung Pay (and other applications). This topic has gotten beyond the point of frustration because we've all spent more than enough money for our cellular devices and plans. A big issue is the mention of "Evaluating", as there is no set time frame that Verizon has to evaluate an app. Furthermore, to screw us all, Verizon can decide to evaluate for over a year just to prove a point and we get that. You've already gotten our money, so you really don't give a rat's [removed]. Moving to another company and having them buy out our contracts still makes money for Verizon, but as more and more users of any brand's devices see what has been a recurring issue with VZW and this Samsung Payapp, they may begin to move elsewhere as well. Such a pointless need for control at a time when beating the competition seemed to be important. I am sure that Verizon has had their financial advisers and accountants weigh the pros and cons of not allowing Samsung Pay and projecting the number of customers that would leave versus the average number of customers they would gain throughout a given time period. Hence, no S Pay currently. If I ran my business in the manner that Verizon does, I'd be out of business. It's sad that my home phone service is also through Verizon, so they are earning an additional chunk of money from my family.
I will, however, look into AT&T, whether I move or not, just because they are also affiliated with Direct TV. There could be some nice package deals in the works.
Instead of just playing golf and sipping on Long Island iced tea, the higher ups are probably sitting together and rolling the dice just thinking of additional ways to screw customers.

Verizon Wireless isn't always last in releasing the system updates. The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.1 tablet got its update to Lollipop on Verizon Wireless before the same AT&T model got theirs.
The Verizon CEO is probably playing golf right now with the unicorn while sprinkling pixie dust on the money he's gotten from us already.
This is BS!!! Now we are going to loose out on a free wireless charger offer from Samsung. If I had better coverage in my town I would jump to T-Mobile.

Ok not always. So 2 time out of 1000 they are ahead of the competition. Still they are very slow at getting most update out the door.
Samsung Pay should never have been removed by Verizon. It was pre-loaded by Samsung, and at that point it was a feature of the device that customers wanted, and paid for. Your removal of it, and the Office apps (like OneDrive), made room for VZW to load it's own overly-priced bloatware and Cloud storage. Those who purchased the Note5, S6E+, or S6 that were pre-loaded with OneDrive received 100GB of free storage.
Just stop it already. Support it, and move aside- you are a service provider- provide great quality phone and internet, and stop blocking applications. (Yes, I know it's a violation of you 700MHz Block C license, and I filed a complaint with the FCC and FTC). Move aside, and stop bullying the market with Android Pay- it's not your place to tell me what I can and cannot have on my device- so long as the applications are legal and do not harm your network.
Samsung charges for preloaded apps and their CEO admitted this multiple times since 2007. I don't blame any company buying in because they don't have to pay for something they shouldn't have just as much you shouldn't have to pay for something you don't want to pay for. Why didn't Samsung make it a standard features instead of calling it a preloaded feature (yes this matters to Samsung in their own eyes). TouchWiz is a standard features for example.
In the end, the manufacturers make a phone, but for the phone to be of use, the carrier has to approve its use on their network, so even if everything a maker put into a phone stayed in a phone, the carrier would still have to approve. I'm not saying Spay negatively impacts quality of service though.
Rejoice?

FYI if there is a buy in. That FCC and FTC complaint will be thrown out the window by them as they will see it as Samsung trying to make money off their services wick no company should be forced to buy into.
Verizon,
I want samsung pay. I have been a loyal verizon wireless customer for years, and this is unacceptable. All your competitors offer it, you need to compete.
I don't want to use google wallet, I want samsung pay.
Thanks to everyone that complained about Samsung Pay not being supported on Verizon . Verizon probably saw many of it's customers switching to other carriers and now they have finally decided to support Samsung Pay. http://www.engadget.com/2015/10/06/verizon-i-can-haz-samsung-pay/
As I understand it...Samsung is offering a free wireless charger to customers who subscribe a credit card to samsung pay by October 10th.
If Verizon isn't supporting Samsung Pay by then.....will THEY give us a credit on our bills?
probably not.....but maybe....maybe Samsung will be nice and extend the same offer to Verizon sucker.....errr.... customers.
So is anybody from Verizon going to be kind enough to let us know when "the future" is? Or was that statement (and this thread consolidation) just a sad attempt to try to get your customers to shutup for the time being?
Dridas
IT was never on the phone to begin with. It is added when 5.1.1 update is released, which happened to my bother in laws international, unlocked GS6 a month or so ago. It still didn't include Android pay until a week ago.
(Im still confused if Android pay is Samsung Pay??? Because there is no app called Samsung pay)
*s̶h̶a̶k̶e̶s̶ ̶h̶e̶a̶d̶... Bangs head on wall!*
Chinese hackers attacked the company behind Samsung Pay
Seems potentially Verizon did people a favor. It's not completely known how far this went.
So I see that it is finally coming in a software update. Is there a date for said roll out or even a rumor. If we get it and can verify a card by October 11 Samsung will send us one of their high speed wireless chargers. That is Sunday. Think we can get it before that? I am doubtful and that means not only waiting for the main reason I got this device but also missing out on a truly awesome promotion connected to it.
They will not send you the fast charging wireless charger... It's their lower one. It's been verified that it isn't the fast charger.
Well that makes me feel better. I have the parts to make a regular one.

YO VERIZON!!!! DO YOU HEAR US??????
I think it's funny in the VZW tweet about Samsung Pay and the replies back to them AT&T Cares posted a message to get VZW's gruntled customers to switch.
Any word on when Verizon will update the phones so we can use Samsung Pay? It's great that they announced that they will support it in a "future" update, without future being defined.. Is Verizon running for office?
Spoke with a representative today and he read me the standard blurb.... Available in future.... He pointed the finger at Samsung stating Samsug Is holding up the software update? Finger pointing 101....
I Keep checking with my brother in law. He is using an unlocked international Samsung S6 on ATT. While he has the 5.1.1 update, he doesn't yet have Samsung Pay. I checked the Samsung website and while it says the S6 and S6 Edge will get it, it isn't ready yet.
THat tells me there are bugs in the software.
Carriers don't like bugs.
I Still post on ATT regularly, they have a Samsung thread. The buzz on Samsung pay is non existent, I will see what happens if I stir the pot....
The problem is Samsung says it is up to Verizon and Verizon says it is up to Samsung to get the update out. It should be noted that Samsung DID include it on the Verizon version of the phones but Verizon decided to remove it as it was a "Pre-Loaded" app.
Given Verizon's track record as it comes to updates (with a very few exceptions) that update will take at least two months to get out the door. So don't expect anything prior to Christmas 2016 (not a misprint).
I'm sure I will use it as much as I use Google wallet now but at the places that are more convenient. I have a friend who has it on Sprint he says it works pretty well. Just not on inserted slots. Though, a lot of those have NFC soooooooo. Yeah, it won't replace my wallet but will be more useful than a pure NFC solution.
6S and 6S Edge are older. Since they say it is coming that means it has the hardware. They will be programming it retroactively. It wasn't ready when they were released so they have to build it now. Note 5 and 6SEdge+ were released with a beta build that could be activated. It was developed with the phone and software. Everything I have seen and heard is it works well on the right terminals.
International version may not get it for a while if ever. It isn't exactly the same phone as the AT&T version so it may not get an update pushed from AT&T.
The international version gets updates straight from Samsung. It will get Samsung pay before ATT S6. Yes, they are older phones and Samsungs own site says they will not yet get samsung pay.
Oh straight from Samsung. That is nice.
Is nobody else annoyed that Verizon hasn't said one word regarding Samsung Pay since they threw everyone into this bottomless pit they call a thread? Looks like all the angry customers already left Verizon. I guess I'm next to go...
I agree! Why has verizon been so silent??
When when when will we get Samsung pay? Can ANYONE answer that question?

I guess I am curious as to why this thread was started. As an "official Samsung Pay thread", I would think there would be input from "official Verizon employees". YOU started this thread 9 days ago with the above simple statement and there is NOT ONE SINGLE INPUT from ANY Verizon representative other than the above statement.
I was reading on another board that Chase and Verizon will be supporting S-pay in November, or at least that is the rumor. Given that it takes Verizon at least 2 months to push an update, that sounds plausible. But I will not believe it until I see it.
Now that Verizon wants to increase my unlimited plan from $30 to $50 per month, other vendors are starting to look good. ATT has some plans that the extra $20 could help cover additional data. I currently use from 20-50GB per month so with roll over data and a 25GB or higher plan it could price out to what I am paying now (the wife has a shared minutes with 1k text and 2gb data) I will have to re-run the figures, but it could be that ATT may be less, plus I could use International versions of phones on ATT. So a plus.
Well I ran the numbers. My current plan is costing me $165/mo not including taxes and fees on Verizon. ATT wants about $190/mo for 25 GB shared data or $161/mo for 20GB.
My current plan has 500 Text for me and 1000 for the wife, 550 minutes and unlimited data for me and 2gb for the wife.
I normal data usage is about 20-25gb per mo with a peak of 50gb one time when I was out of town for two weeks with spotty wifi available.
Right now I never worry about how much data I use so not sure how much I might actually use vs a heavier WiFi usage. That is if I was being careful about my usage it may actually drop. Like I said right now I don't care and opt to use LTE when ever I need to update or download a large file (like MS Word).
The price at Verizon will increase to about $183/mo. So for only $7 per month more I can get a 25Gb shared plan with unlimited voice and text for both of us. Plus, Att now supports WiFi calling and texting. So there is another plus.
Verizon is sure making it easier to switch with all it's nonsense.
This is a Samsung Pay thread.
Can someone have an admin or moderator contact me about the forums and a ticket that was entered by internal Verizon Support. The email address and user id associated with my forums account is actually a verizon chat rep. Long story. thanks. Email is: [removed]

Your comment is very insightful.
It makes me wonder if the Samsung "free" stuff offered as promotion for Samsung Pay and qualifying devices figured in Verizon's calculation to preserve margins they earn on accessories they sell for the Samsung devices.
Thanks for the food for thought.

You can get those accessories Anywhere. I bought mine from Samsung wroth a coupon which made it cheaper than Verizon and everyone gets the same coupon when they log into their Samsung account. Cheaper than Amazon too. Think a little more rationally here.
It is the pinnacle of poor customer service to create an 'official' samsung pay thread and then post nothing. Verizon is 'officially' ignoring its customers and providing them with zero information and updates. If Verizon management had half a brain cell working, they would have been ready to start Samsung Pay immediately when they finally made the decision to do so. It shows a total disregard for customer service and their customers. If they did not have the best cell coverage, they would quickly and continuously lose business with their current management practices and arrogant behavior toward their customers.
Hey there! any "official" word on Verizon's Samsung Pay update?
Totally disappointing to see that VERIZON refuses to activate such an awesome service like Samsung Pay! Do it...like NOW!!
That isn't what they said....
new update for phone today. Says it will allow Samsung pay when it is in the Google Play store. now just waiting for that.
Why would Verizon make Samsung Pay and Google Play item? That's not how the other carriers did it, was it?
I just applied the update, but no Samsung Pay App available, and that includes the Google Play store. I see that Verizon still has some foolishness going on. This will hurt their sales of the Gear S2 and rightfully so. I have the S and didn't get it through Verizon and I'm glad that I didn't. I will get the S2, but probably not through Verizon because of their lack with Samsung Pay. That will always paint my image of them now.
They gave us an update that was supposed to for S Pay, but instead nothing but a cloud of dust.
Thanks again Verizon, but please provide us with Vaseline the next time you're going to screw us.
Maybe when it actually comes, even the bones will have withered away.
I have received no update in the past couple of weeks. So, now I'm curious, was this an update through the Settings--->System updates, or was it an update to the Samsung Push Service?
same here. the update details even say it should download the Samsung Pay app and nothing appears.
