How can I track my phone? My kids take my phone all the time and leave on silent. What can I do?
Hi Sweettooth!
Verizon offers a service called "Family Locator" which once installed can track your phone to within 3-5 meters of it's location via GPS. You can locate your phone from the "My Verizon" website with family locator. It is a charged service, but right now it's on sale in a bundle of other apps that include, Usage Controls, VZnavigator, Ringback Tones, Vcast Video, and one other I think... Family locator is usually $9.99 by itself I think and the other apps that come in that bundle range from 5.99-9.99 as well individually, you can get them all in the bundle for 12.99 I think, I'd check "My Verizon" to be sure. I switched to the bundle because I had both Family locator and VZnavigator and was paying $9.99 a piece for them. I didn't really want the ringback tones but, I couldn't pass up the deal on the other apps (though I have had some fun with ringback tones since).
I hope that helps you!

Oh, I forgot to mention another option! If you have Total equipment coverage through Assurion, you can download an app from one of there websites that allows you to track your phone, lock it remotely, make an alarm go off on it (even if the ringer is on silent), and wipe your contacts info remotely. I think you get the app from a website called mymobilerecovery.com but I'm not sure you would have to ask a Verizon rep. I called them about a tech issue with my Bionic and they told me about it all, because Assurion is having open enrollment for the Total coverage package during the month of March. You can insure your device as long as it has not been activated for more than two years, normally you only have 30 days from the time of purchase. I think it's $8 a month, I know they said it covers lost, stolen, and broken devices. I was thrilled as my Bionic retails for like $500. :smileyhappy:
Good Luck!

What you need is "Lookout Security & Antivirus". It is available on the Android Market(Google Play). There is no monthly cost if you do not need premium services and everything you are looking to do is included in the basic service.
From a computer, you can have this app locate your phone and make it emit an audible sound, even if it is on vibrate. It can also locate your phone via GPS. Sounds perfect for you.
There is also Mobile Defense on Google Play you can use also. Plus you can send a nasty message to the kids to quit taking the phone and then lock it! That should cure this issue
i use "seek droid" from the market. it does all of this as well. there are a number of apps that will do what you want. there is even one called plan b that you can install to your device from the market (from a pc) AFTER you have lost the phone (assuming it is still turned on).
Phone tracking refers to the process of locating a mobile device using various technologies, such as GPS, Wi-Fi, or cellular network signals. This can be done for a variety of reasons, including personal security, lost device recovery, or monitoring device usage. For example, services like LBC track and trace Philippines offer real-time tracking of shipments, similar to how phone tracking systems monitor device locations. While phone tracking can be a valuable tool for locating a missing phone or ensuring safety, it also raises privacy concerns, as unauthorized tracking can lead to surveillance and data breaches. Many mobile devices offer built-in tracking features, such as Apple's "Find My iPhone" or Google's "Find My Device," that allow users to locate their phones remotely.
