Hi all.
Just wondering if I am the only one who is having issues with Samsung Intensity III's alarm settings. I found that it works in every instance EXCEPT when you set it in the PM for the AM hour....it does not go off. I replaced it once before and I continue to have the same problem. The Verizon people must think I am crazy...keep telling they have not had reports of this particular issue. Am I the only one????

I know how convenient the alarm clock feature is on my phone Nika003! We're not reporting known issues with the Intensity III. Have you tried again using the "save" and then "set" commands? Have you tested it with different times? How about if you set it at the same time each day? If the device continues to be non-responsive to the alarm commands, I recommend completing a hard reset. http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=34101
I trust this information was helpful.
Sincerely,

Hello,
I am also experiencing problems with the alarm on my Intensity 3. I plug it in at night to charge, and have a weekdays alarm set for 5:45am. The alarm doesn't go off in the morning. When I look at the phone and click out of the "charge complete unplug from power source.." screen, I notice that the clock towards the bottom of the screen is frozen.. it said the time was 2:47am, but it was after 5:45am... It seems like whenever the phone completes it's charge, the screen freezes, which makes the alarm not work.

I've had my Intensity III for about 3 weeks now and the alarm has been set every day since. It has not gone off once. I miss my original Intensity I. I guess they plan to push us all to smartphones and their rediculous monthly fees by making the basic phones more and more crappy.

I think I have a solution. When you open the alarms application. Highlight the alarm you want to set and hit options. There should be an option to "turn on" the alarm. If its not turned on, it won't work. I tested this a few times and it seems to have fixed my alarm problems. Found this article that was extremely helpful: http://techtips.salon.com/set-alarm-samsung-intensity-26957.html. Hope that helps.

We purchased 2 of these phones in summer of 2012
We had the exact alarm problems that everyone is complaining about
Verizon sent us new phones and they both have the alarm issue
Verizon does not seem to be putting out a fix for this
When you call VZ they say humm, no we are not getting complaints on this issue, but this forum is loaded with people logging complaints to them. And in the VZ store is also loaded with complaints
There seems to be a big disconnect between complaints and resolutions

I just got a Intensity III at Walmart and I have the same alarm clock issue. It worked twice (but not the first time I tried). Its been set for a few days now and doesn't go off at 7:00am as indicated nor does it think it went off, its just always set. I am still in the 30 day window so I guess its time for a new/different phone.

My wife's new Intensity 3 is having the same alarm issue that is reported here. No, Verizon Support Rep, the problem has NOT been fixed, and you did NOT give the correct answer. All you did was pass the buck onto your customers and assume that they are doing something stupid. It is an issue that needs to be dealt with and acknowledged. It may be difficult to reproduce but your forums are filled with reports of this problem (I found at least three different threads reporting this issue with multiple people confirming this issue on each thread).
I am a software tester by trade. I made sure that the alarm was configured correctly (just like on my Intensity 2 phone). I made sure that the alarm was turned on. I made sure that the volume was turned up. I set a custom tone as well as verizon provided tones.
Please address this issue or at least inform Samsung so that the issue can get resolved. This feature not working is about to cause my wife to return this phone that is in all other respects a good and reliable phone.

I would also contact Samsung and ask if it's releasing a software update to fix this issue. Here's a page for your wife's phone, with contact information.

Dear jakebuck,
Good morning. Ensuring your alarm clock works correctly is very important. I see our response from Jonathan shows doing a hard reset helped the alarm concerns many were experiencing. Have you tried a hard reset on your device? We recommend ensuring your information is backed up before completing a hard reset to your phone. To complete a hard reset click http://vz.to/wnz3er
In addition, Samsung is also currently working on a fix to resolve the alarm concerns. Should you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Thank You,

Alright, I did a hard reset after backing up all my data, will give it a few days to see if the alarm issue is better. I moved all my contacts to the memory card before doing the reset and now can't figure out how to reimport them to the phone. Is there a way to add contact info from the memory card to my contacts list?

Hi jakebuck,
I trust that your phone alarm concerns will be resolved with the hard reset you have performed on your device. I have read the entire manual http://cache.vzw.com/multimedia/mim/sam_intensity_3/intensity3_manual.pdf for your device and I have not been able to find a way to get contacts from your memory card to your phone. How did you get your contact to transfer to the memory card? Try reversing the process.

I returned my first Samsung Intensity 3 today after following all the resets and testing of different alarm types. I have my second one and the alarm is still intermitant. Out of five test runs the alarm went off 2x, it went off seven minutes late only after i pushed a key on the phone to wake it up and failed to go off 2x. I have had many cell phones and this alarm issue is unacceptable...... Other than the internet everyone acts like they have never seen this problem. I am frustrated... Going to DUMP the Samsung...........

We want you to be able to use all the amazing features on your Intensity 3 Bruce468! How often are you power cycling the device? We recommend once daily. Have you tried pulling the battery? In addition, are the difficulties happening mainly when the phone is still plugged into the charger? We will figure this out!

This is going to sound ridiculous that you have to do workarounds like this, but try setting an alarm in the A.M. for the A.M. (rather than setting it the night before). Also try setting it for daily instead of once, and use the default VZW alarm sound.
