Statosphere Shutting Down

I have this phone for over a year and for the last 3 months, at least 2-4 times a day when I close the keyboard, the phone shuts off. I have done the usualy removal of battery, updating phone and all of the other usual suggested steps to no avail. The phone also on occassion (1-2 times a month) will just shut down. I have read the "no known issues" post on here and wondering if there has been a solution found to this problem and if Verizon has finally acknowledged this as a known issue. This is very frustrating and the lack of support is unacceptable!

The following two things are good for you to do:

1). Download Android Task Manager Free from the Market. Go into the program. Select the Phone Tab. Any program installed in phone memory, move it to the SD card. If a move fails try it a second time. Do this for every program installed on the phone that shows up on this tab.

2). Download 1Tap Cache Cleaner. Run it and clear all Caches, and all History.

3). Shut down the phone. If you can, remove battery (sorry 1 more time) and wait 4-5minutes. Boot back up.

If you are still experiencing rebooting, my suggestion if you've never done so is to perform a Factory Data Reset. I would not run specialized programs for a while, but instead, just the ones that come with the phone.

If rebooting still occurred, I would format your microSD card AFTER having backed up everything to a PC.

You really have to rule out stuff by doing the above. If that doesn't fix things, then you should tell VZW to provide you with another phone.
