The wait for lollipop is getting ridicules.

I pay more money to access your network and buy the most expensive devices but everyone else get's their android updates faster and there service is cheaper.

My current Verizon devices are:

Droid Turbo, Nexus 7 and Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet.

None have been updated to lollipop. What's the real reason Verizon? Not interested in a canned response.

With all the problems lollipop is causing for the S5, LG, and other phones, why would you want to put this flawed update on your perfectly operating devices.

We (Turbo owner here) want the update. Some people don't mind waiting, but some of us do! I know a lot of the update issues are resolved by resetting phones, but some people are stubborn and refuse to do a phone reset. I know someone at work who has called Verizon more than once and lied about doing a phone reset asking for help after the update.

I want the update, and will do a phone reset after and am sure it will be fine. I'll do a phone reset now, then, and later. I don't care. No big deal. What is a big deal is having a flagship phone still waiting for an update months later.

You don't want it. Causing problems which Verizon won't fix.

Everyone has problems with the update. Google themselves says there's a problem with lollipop. 5.1 will fix a lot of the issues. The droid Turbo update waa delay specifically for 5.1... From Motorola's own mouth. Carriers don't code updates...

The Galaxy S4 from AT&T my company provides me for work use has Lollipop and i have had no issues so far.

I have also read that Motorola is waiting on 5.1 for the turbo and i totally understand that. What i truly can't understand is that google provided the source to Verizon for the nexus 7 back before the end of last year for 5.0 and now they've provided 5.1 to Verizon for the nexus 7 but Verizon still hasn't pushed either to my device.

You have issues. You've been lucky to not notice them. There's a fundamental problem with the memory management which you've been lucky to get low consumption apps to hang over the larger ones. Google corrected this in 5.1. Soon enough you'll be crying about how terrible your battery is and why your phone is running hot soon enough unless you restart your phone every night.

Just go and download it and install it yourself. The option has been there not to wait for it.

Tidbits I've been using android since day one and i'm also and IT professional I think i'd know if i'm having issues. Absolutely no battery or memory issues on my S4. And typically the option to download from the google source you have to flash your device and will loose all your setting and files.

Then tell Google their code is fine... Google will even tell you EVERYONE is affected. You are just getting the luck of the draw even from Google... So you KNOW MORE than Google.... That's good to know... What should I use to get your to answer all my questions. :smileyhappy:

Phone is worthless to me right now reboots when connected to WiFi at work has a bug when used with several routers phone reboots non stop 5.1 is suppose to have fix for this issue had phone for 3 weeks love it except can't use it at work and if you call Verizon they claim have no idea of this issue ---- bs

The lack of patience people have for anything these days, is ridiculous.

Does your Turbo work? Mine does. Does it work well? Mine does. Would i love to have the latest version of Android. You bet I would. Is it going to make me irritable because other phones have it before mine, flagship device or not? Nope. Why not? Because there are other, more important things going on in the world to worry about :smileyhappy:

Killodrum, I think that was an awesome reply and hits the nail on the head. Personally I would rather wait on the update until it is correct then put it on too soon and have a bunch of trouble with it. I do commend Motorola as well on this as they saw issues and would not release it with these issues which is the right thing to do.

Well, I guess since I can't inquire about updates -and- think about all of the important things in the world, I'll just have to let it go.

Since they've been working so hard on it for the last 5 months I'll stop saying anything about it.

I guess since 5.1 has been released on other phones that means they've worked hard enough. I'll just not worry about it on my phone.

There is a difference in what has been released and what Motorola is releasing. The 5.1 base code has been sent out to the manufacturers who customize it for their phones and carriers (all of Verizons Bloatware). Some of the carriers already released 5.1 as they didn't do much to it or much testing with it which is why you see people complaining that the update killed their phones. Motorola is testing the update completely so when they do release it they release a quality update. Yes it would be nice to have the newest update for the phone, but I for one would rather have a good update and wait a bit longer then have a rushed update that hoses my phone and makes it worse then it was.

I wish they hadn't done that. Those of us thinking about selling our Turbos will have to drop our prices too.

Verizon doesn't want to upgrade you they want to get the newer model then fork it with their own proprietary build and force you to buy it in a repeating cycle. Verizon provides crap service at the highest price with the only focus on screwing you over for every dollar they can squeeze out. I am so pissed off at this and don't understand as the market is saturated and what once was true that Verizon has best signal has been blown out of the water as I have crap internet service when everyone around me has great service from other providers. I pay 500$ a month for this and am sick and tired of being treated like crap by Verizon corporate greedy bastards.
