I have been having the same issue. I use Messaging +
Have you made sure to disable the preinstalled messaging application's notifications? I know I've had that issue with previous phones.
This just started in the last week and I have not changed any settings to trigger this.
I've been using the message + since I got my phone several months ago
I have been experiencing this issue as well.

Have tried multiple forums for assistance, considering changing carrier if not corrected.
I know this is frustrating to receive duplicate messages shanney78. Have you checked the settings on your device? Does your phone have the latest software? Are you using a 3rd party messaging application. When did it start to occur. KinquanaH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @vzwsupport

lacepage, I definitely don't want a device issue to push you away from our service. Could you please uninstall any 3rd party messaging apps, including Verizon Messages and Messaging , test and follow up with us, once you have only the native text message app? Thanks, please keep us in the loop! SandyS_VZWFollow us on Twitter @Vzwsupport
it began with the verizon msg+ app and continues with the google msg app for years now. 90404
