Will a Samsung Galaxy S5 model SM-G900F work with 4G LTE using Verizon in the US?
Similarly, will 4G work in Europe? I recall reading somewhere that I would be capable of at most 3G, but would like confirmation.

No, it will not work on the Verizon Wireless network. There is no CDMA radios in it. That model was designed for Europe and will likely work on the carriers there for their GSM and LTE networks.
