Is there a way to permanently get rid of a contact and not be able to add it back?
Delete them and just don't add them back, dunno what you want Verizon to do here.
I have my ex's number and haven't added it to contacts in months, don't expect my carrier to do delete her forever for me lol

Are you saying you've deleted it and it keeps coming back without you doing the adding? Was it included in a back up of contacts to a cloud storage somewhere?
bradleybunch, I want to make sure we are on the same page. If you delete a contact from your phone, it will not come back unless you readd it. If you have some kind of back up service on your phone, you may need to delete it there as well if it keeps coming back after deleting it. If you do not wish to have calls or text from a specific number, you an always look into blocking them as well: https://www.verizon.com/support/block-numbers/
