Occasionally, my phone does not ring on incoming calls. Yet, my phone will sound that a voice message is left, or, the display will show that I missed a call. This doesn't happen with anyone in particular. And, it will ring when the same people call on occasion. I have checked my settings and nothing is different. This has happened since I have had the phone.

vli1127, we want to make sure you are receiving your phone calls. We are here to help get this resolved. How often do you power off your phone? Powering the phone off at lease once a week will insure that you maintain a good connection to the network.
Let’s also start by resetting the network settings on your phone: follow the link for instructions: http://vz.to/2dedhEJ

How do I do this for a Verizon-based iPhone 6S? Several incoming calls are not "ringing" but going straight to Voice Mail.

Hello, jfltdoc. I would be more than happy to look into this for you. Could I have the ZIP Code for the location in your area, so I may review your location for any open alerts? - Taylor TaylorH_VZW

I have the same issue on my iPhone X. It started with the new call blocker. I turned off the free service, and then deleted the app because the phone will not ring unless the caller is in my contact list. It still does that and I can't make it ring regardless of what I try. Any ideas?

Hello, being on top of your equipment is vital, especially if you are having issues. Aside from the new call blocker, what recent changes have you made? What happens when someone calls you? Do you have issues with any other notifications?

Dear customer service, isn’t there a new Verizon spam filtering system in place that forwards phone calls to voicemails now? I think that might be what is happening. At first I loved the idea, but I am missing phone calls from companies I need and people sometimes. can i turn that off?

Chris_311, we definitely don't want you to be missing important calls, so allow us to help. Are you referring to the Call Filter app? Please take a look at our Call Filter FAQ page by clicking here https://www.verizon.com/support/call-filter-faqs/ If you are not referring to Call Filter, please tell us more about what you're using to filter out the unwanted calls. I followed the directions as suggested. It did not work. Any other suggestions for a Samsung S9? The phone does not ring on incoming calls while I am home, but does notify me of a voice message.
Since I am working from home I need this phone to work.

Thanks for the update. Have there been any recent changes to the device such as applications or software? Do any other Verizon Wireless devices experience similar issues at your home? -Chris_M

duvluv2u2, I rely on my phone heavily for calls, so I know how important it is for the phone to ring. Please go to settings and is Do Not Disturb on? Does this problem happen with all calls?

K6XX, we appreciate your follow-up. As a technician for many years in multiple fields, I can assure you, the first step in most troubleshooting scenarios is to complete a power-cycle. This was not intended to be the fix, but the first step in a line-of-questing to seek out the root cause of your issue. Did you complete the network reset? Are you still impacted by this concern?

jmc1955,
We know it is important for your phone to ring. Let's gather a few clues. Are you having trouble with all calls? Does this happen with certain people or certain times of the day?

I have the same problem on my LG V30+. The ringer is on full volume, but doesn't ring. I've missed some very important phone calls that I was waiting for. It also drops calls in the middle of a phone call or will mute me so that I can't be heard by anybody else on a phone call. I have to hang up the phone and call back to be heard again.
All three of these issues started about a month and a half to two months ago, round the same time I finished paying the 24 month installment payments to own the phone free and clear.
Somebody else posted in the forums that they experience having calls dropped and being muted, but they have an LG V60.
