Traveling to Ecuador

My mom is traveling to Ecuador for a three week bird watching expedition. Would she be better off emailing pics and using data, or paying $.50 for each text? Assuming she has coverage in the areas she will be in. She uses a Droid. Also will she pay to revive texts from those of us in the states who are also on the Verizon network while she is there? Thanks for any help!

I'd love to help you with options for using her device in Ecuador! You will need to have your mom call to make sure international dialing is set up for her line, and that her phone is compatible in this location.

I recommend using data rather than per message, because not only will you be charged the picture fee, but a picture message does use some data as well. We have a data plan that offers 100MB for $25.
