Finally got a chance to try the method suggested in an old post from 2020. Three times in the last three years my iPhone has stopped being able to either send or receive images and videos to my husband's android. If he tries to send, his phone says "Message failed." If I try to send to him, nothing happens.
Log in to VerizonWireless.com
Under Devices, click on the phone with the send/receive pic issue.
Scroll down to Settings & Preferences
Select Block Specific Services
Select the phone with the issue again.
Hit the + sign to the right of Block Services
Hit the +sign to the right of Messaging
To the right of Block Picture and Video Messaging, turn the feature ON by dragging the button right.
The button turns green.
Wait for the system to update and a pop-up about successfully saving your settings.
Now turn the feature back OFF again by dragging the switch left.
Wait for the system to update and a pop-up about successfully saving your settings.
You're done. Log out.
Now my husband and I can exchange picture messages again.
Verizon store reps insisted on resetting my phone half a dozen times until we gave up dealing with them. Phone reps were completely unable to help. They insisted each time it was obviously a phone problem, and not a network issue, and that I had to go back and spend another two hours at the store.
