I have a LG G4 phone and the Android operating system. Whenever I get a text message from a iphone, it comes across to me broken up into pieces. Like 9 separate texts on my end when the sender really sent only 1 long text message. Why?

Getting those messages all at once is the goal. I enjoy sending and receiving text messages with no problem and you should be able to do the same. When did the trouble with the messages begin? Are you connected to our network or Wi-Fi when receiving messages? Also, what app are you using to receive messages?

I use Message+ version 6.1.3 by Verizon (my carrier). Iphone messages do
the same thing no matter if I am on Wi-Fi or network.

I'm having a friend send me iphone texts of varying lengths and it looks
like the messages get broken up into smaller texts of 65 or 66 character
lengths.
Also, I got this phone a few months ago and it has always been this way. I
can't remember if my old Verizon Android phone did this. I have installed
lots of apps though but would that cause this?

My wife is on Verizon but she has an iPhone. Her long texts do not get
broken up into pieces. But long texts from iPhones on AT&T do get broken
up. My wife just sent me a picture with text and it all came through in one
message.

My wife has no problems receiving text messages from any carrier. She has
an iPhone on Verizon. All the people sending me texts from an iPhone are
using the default messaging app on their phones. And I am using the default
messaging app on my LG G4 with Android OS. I searched the Verizon community
site and found several other posts about text messages being split up into
smaller texts of 67 characters. I think they mentioned unicode characters
being an issue but I'm not sure what that means.

Nope any Android or Windows phone come in just fine, only iPhones come in split up!
AdamFlorida, that's exactly the way I would get text messages from a friend using a iPhone with AT&T when I had a Droid with Verizon messages. I never bothered trying to resolve it just figured they were using iMessages probably being sent thru Apple server.
I now have an iPhone still with Verizon and use Apple's iMessages. But now even if I get a text from an iPhone or Droid it comes thru fine. Also the text will indicate in a Blue bubble that's it's from an iPhone or in Green if it came from a Droid, which is a great thing.
So you could purchase a new iPhone thru Verizon or see if there are any Apps at the Google store that might install iMessages on a Droid? I believe there are some but have no idea if they're any good. I went with the iPhone 6s Plus 128GB, you won't be disappointed if you do.

Apple and Verizon. I use Facebook messenger most is the time anyway and it
doesn't have this problem, but this text message issue is annoying.
It very well could be compatibility but not just pertaining to Verizon as you'll see in this article from Apple.

Apple can be protective some years back they used Digital Rights Management (DRM). Where if music was purchased through iTunes. It would only be able to be used on a Apple Device such as an iPOD. So you were limited from using a song on a generic Mp3 player.
I am having the same issue. Messages are sent from an AT&T iPhone to my Verizon Moto Z Force Droid in Black/Lunar Grey 32 GB Black and my default messaging app is Message+. Many are broken into 67 character messages, and in the wrong order, but it does not always break the messages up.
It seems to me like if there is emoji in the message it will break it up, into 67 byte messages (long press the message and tap Message Info to get the length).
But I also got a message that I did not see any emoji in it, that appears it should have been 233 characters but was broken up into one message of 153 characters and another of 80 characters. And another that was a total of 486 bytes and was broken up into 3 messages each 153 and one that is 27. I also have messages that were broken in the middle of a word into lengths of 153 and 46 bytes and came across in the wrong order.
I also have one that was 156 bytes and it was not broken up, but I got it twice.
And I have one that was 159 bytes that came across just fine.
I have also received multimedia messages of 263.4 KB that with a relatively long text message that appears to have come across just fine.
Also, I have a message which included one of the older smiley faces such as a : - ) (not one of the more recent emojis) that was 167 bytes total and was broken into messages that were 153 bytes, and 14 bytes. And they were in the incorrect order.
Is Verizon bothering to do anything about this??????????

I have always had this happen on every cell phone I've ever had. I am always on some sort of Android phone and if I get a text from an iPhone on AT&T and now Cricket, their texts get broken up into 67 characters. No special characters or emjois in them. 67 Characters and it breaks, even if in the middle of a word. And as others have said, you can get them out of order, which makes it a bit of a puzzle to piece them back together so you can figure out what was said. Very frustrating.
An interesting test: Try cut and pasting from the sending system. I used a Lorem Ipsum generator: Lorem Ipsum - All the facts - Lipsum generator .
What I found was messages that were cut and pasted into the T-Mobile were delivered as one message to Verizon, but messages that were entered from the keyboard were split.
I haven't been able to find any extra control characters. I'm wondering if it has to do with the character set.
This setup had no problem going from Verizon to T-Mobile.
