Not getting Multi factor authenticate code texts in a timely matter if at all

 

I have tried turning Airplane mode off and on, same with WIFI. sometimes that works.

 

This started happening when I changed my verizon mobile device from a iphone 14 to 16.

Have you checked the settings on your iPhone 16 to make sure SMS is enabled?  There are a number of YouTube videos with assorted things to try if you search there for something like "fix not getting short code texts".
