I see that Verizon has released the OneUI 7 update for the Samsung S21ultra. I installed the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant on my laptop. However when I open the assistant and connect my phone, the "Next" button is still greyed out. I'm not sure why the assistant isn't connecting to my phone.

There was some kind of tech issue with some Samsung phones where they wouldn't download software updates correctly. Using a 3rd party source such as a laptop to try to get the software update doesn't work either. The problem was originally reported back in January and I thought it was fixed by now, but if your phone still refuses to update itself, I'd try contacting Verizon and asking for Level 2 tech support.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

We want to help you get the latest software for your device. Although the Software Update Assistant is great, you can also download this update directly to the phone over Wi-Fi. From the Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps, tap Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.
If you encounter any errors or complications in this process, please let us know what you experince so we can provide additional support. -James
