BEWARE of switching calling plans based on what you are told by a Verizon agent! I called Verizon with a billing question, which was answered to my satisfaction. The agent then told me they had a special plan available to me as a 10+ year Verizon customer over 55 years old. It would save me money - $1.10/month - and would have unlimited data instead of the 2 GB of data my current plan had. He also said he would give me an additional credit on my account. It sounded too good to be true, and I kept asking to verify that I was correct in my understanding. (All this is on a recorded line.) He sent me a link to the changes, but the information did not provide enough details to show me that what he said was NOT TRUE. Now that I am on the new plan, I can see that the new plan costs me $6 MORE per month and I was not given any special credit. I consider myself a pretty cautious consumer, but I still got taken.
