Cellular stability

Dear Verizon, can you tell me if you will be expanding cellular towers in the 19958 zip code.  New communities exist in this zip code  yet the cellular service is half a bar at best.  The question "can you hear me now?" is a standard question because its just horrible.  If no one has reported it please check it out.  I'd like to stay with Verizon but will have to consider AT&T has cellular service seems to be just fine.

Hi, if you're a prepaid customer, we prepaid customers have lower priority on the towers than the postpaid customers.  This means your device(s) will usually not be connected to the closest tower.  My phone is usually on the 2nd closest tower to me, but if the network is busy, my phone will end up on the 3rd, 4th, or sometimes 5th closest tower which is something like 10 miles away.  I've seen numerous tower handoffs occurring during heavy network congestion where Opensignal shows my phone literally being tossed around between multiple towers every few seconds.  This can cause problems with call quality, not just slow data connection.

You could try another carrier, but I'd be willing to bet prepaid customers with any carrier are treated the same.  It's the tradeoff we deal with for paying less.

traums, we value your loyalty, and certainly understand the importance of reliable service. We'd love to gather more details to best assist. Please tell us, are data and messaging services also affected in this location? When did the issue begin? To clarify, does this happen both indoors and outdoors?
