Hello,
I am a new verizon customer and i had a few questions about switching my postpaid plan to prepaid. So i currently dont like the plan that i am on in which i am paying $55/month for 2 GB. I am 2 days into the plan and i wanted to switch over to prepaid because its cheaper. After the first 30 days i am going to buyout my phone. Now, are there going to be any fees or penalties for me switching over to prepaid after 1 month into my contract? And also, I assume when i buy out the phone i can use it for prepaid, right?
thx

The phone is locked to your postpaid account for 60 days.

You will need to pay any device payment agreement balance you have before you can switch to prepaid. If any line on your account is also under contract, you need to pay the ETF too. You are also responsible for paying for the postpaid service you used between your last billing cycle and the date you switch to prepaid.

You don't have a contract. Moving to prepaid is done through sales or a store, prepare to have little to no customer service in perpaid.

Prepaid is fine...unless you need to talk to customer support, or anyone at all, at Verizon. It is literally all but impossible to get any support, or even contact, with Verizon when you're on a prepaid plan.
